Driving through St Thomas a couple of weeks ago, I snapped a picture of the 'green wall' on this property (We were stationary at the time!:p) but after posting it on another thread, I realised I'd been had. It's a fake, made with plastic plants. :(
The whole concept of a fake living wall is just so mind bogglingly dumb I can't get my head around it.
The house isn't the worst thing I've ever seen but the black skirting boards do give it a certain '80's city banker' feel.
  • 'Perfect for prosecco parties' is the weirdest EA line i've heard so far... especially when the suggested venue is not much more than a shed!

Is Breaston a fair-size place then - considering the size of those photos?

When someone comes from a place big enough to have a noticeable number of properties up for sale at any given time - then the "can't be ars*d to look any further" factor comes up literally in 5 seconds flat at the thought of "blowing up" those photos to see-able size. Shrugs shoulders and thinks "Well - if the vendor is so un-bothered as that - why would I bother to look at it?" and moves on in 5 seconds flat.....

One has to be looking in a small area indeed not to react that way imo....

This one is not far from us. Love the exterior, the grounds and especially the stunning chapel ruins. I also love the rugs......but not sure I'd have chosen quite as many small ones (pics 3,4,6 and 8) in those grand rooms :D

Also, no pics of kitchen or bathrooms which is worrying......

  • Lovely location for this one in the pretty village of Badger, but whilst I'm all for keeping the local blacksmith employed, that "striking wrought sculpted metal balustrading" (pics 4,5,6,13,14,26 and 27!!!) is not to my personal taste......

  • Any guesses as to why this bungalow has been on the market since 15th March 2011?!?!? Could it be the delightful bathroom that makes my eyes bleed (pic 7) or maybe there's a new development planned to the rear? My guess though is the price.......

I did think that myself re the "can't be ars*d" factor - I don't think i've ever noticed that on a RM listing before, although the house looks nice (from a distance) it would certainly put me off.

Breaston is a small-ish vilage (4500 odd population according to Wiki) but it is close enough to quite a few bigger towns/cities so I would imagine it comes up on a lot of people's radar/RM search (including me!)

The brick pillar bodge at the bottom of the stairs is a bit worrying.

I think it's been on even longer than that. Streetview from October 2010 shows a for sale board in the garden!

Crazily overpriced. A 4 bed detached house 3 doors down went for over £100k less in April this year. And it was 40% bigger than this bungalow. Almost as if they don't want a sale.
