Thanks, have just seen it in a different place on the website but it seems that one has to be paid for, £25 activation fee and £25 a month thereafter, not the same 6 months free as Cannons.0
-
Oooh, can you provide me a link please? I might need it for proof when I phone up if they are funny. Yes it's correct about no free 6 months but the nearest Cannons is > 30 miles away and JJB is about 20 miles away from me
Many thanks0 -
the whole thing seems to good to be true really, but will have to wait and see I guess
my premium came up as £16 a month
so £16 x 6months = £96
+ a possible £25 cancellation fee = £121
then I went via quidco so get £120 (after their £5 fee) cashback
so £121 to pru then £120 back from quidco
£1!!! for 6 months gym membership!:T  :j0 -

Not an actual joining offer but special rates for Pru members nonetheless.
On another note, considering the huge response to this offer (according to the manager of Cannons), it's all gone very smoothly. I applied online on Tuesday night, got my pack through yesterday, had a tour round the gym last night and was given my membership card there and then. Had my gym induction and Pru fitness test this morning, called Pru and my gym membership is now fully activated, and Cannons have faxed them my results already.
Great work from both sides, can't fault them so far. And to top it all off, the manager gave me a few free guest passes which I'm not eligible for under the Pru scheme, and as my son is under 5 (3 months old), he gets free membership and now has his own membership cards which means as many swimming sessions with him as I like for nothing!
I'm now free to go to the gym, and my first proper visit will be tonight!0 -

good stuff! thats great.
I didnt realise there was a fitness test though whats that all about? what did it entail?0 -
Simple stuff really, they call it a fitness test but I had my height and weight measured, my blood pressure taken (anything over a certain level will require a doctors cert to say you're ok to use the gym) and a three minute step test, where you just step up and down about 24 times a minute for three minutes, they take your heart rate before and after the test, then a minute after that. You can then have a full on induction on how to use the gym equipment if you wish, although it isn't essential. All in all I was in there about 20 minutes.0

ahh ok thanks for the info.0 -
how do i put on an excess to reduce the premium?0
-
just go to the excess bit on the left hand side of the screen and choose the highest amount (i think its 1000, can't remember) and your premium will be automatically reduced.0
-
has anyone cancelled their health insurance after the 6 months gym offer was over, was it straightforward?0
