I can believe anyone would recommend bank transfers most ebay scams revolve around them.
Im afraid you've caught the back end of a conversation. We werent talking about buying from Ebay but about buying from foreign company websites. Paypal offers no more protection when buying from these companies than any other payment method. You killed me scooter!!0 -
I thought the idea of going trough paypal or google pay was that you didn't have to give your bank/cc details to an unknown trader?0

Has anyone received or heard anything about their gamestation order from Thursday?
My account still says processing.
Gamestation is next day delivery. I ordered one on wednesday and it arrived Thursday. I would give them a call.0 -

Yes thats one of the supposed benefits of paypal but the details given for a bank transfer are no more than is written on your cheque. Therefore a bank transfer is no less secure than writing a cheque. That was my original point but it seems to have got misunderstood by people reading the subsequent replys without reading the original post. We were talking about payment to legitimate foreign companies not Ebay or scammers. Im beginning to wish I hadnt offered any advice now:rolleyes:You killed me scooter!!0 -
Just started to look for a Wii console – I hadn’t realised all the fuss until I read the forum.
Found this ebayer here who obviously has no difficulty obtaining stock - 18 consoles listed in their detailed 90 day feedback, so probably sold more.
Nice work if you can get it !0 -

EDIT: I know it wasn't ebay, but the principle risk remains try getting your money back. I didn't mention Paypal either.
No but the original poster to which I replied did. In fact it was the whole point of the original posters post - paypal V bank transfer for foreign companies. Please take the time to read the original post before you reply. Then you might understand what the topic was actually about not what you thought it was about by reading the last couple of posts. Geesh, Im trying to help out and getting flamed for it. Think the lack of Wii's may be taking it toll on some. You killed me scooter!!0 -
This might be of help to some of you. Scan computers are expecting stock on the 27th November and you can pre order. Only problem is that its £235 for the basic package. Their excuse is that they are having to pay more to get these things too. lol Are they buying them from ebay aswell. To those complaining about ebayers, the retailers are getting worse!
Heres the link anyway: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=5885060 -

Probably been mentioned but if you are lucky to buy a console from Europe and the company states that they do not post to the UK,then I believe it is possible to get a postal address in that country ,that in turn forward it on to your address.
There would be a charge, but I would think it is no more than £10...?
Hope this helps.0 -
To anyone who ordered from Argos on Friday night expecting their delivery tomorrow and still waiting for their confirmation email: BAD NEWS!!
I was in the same boat, i ordered on Friday night and wanted to double check with them as they had not debited any money from my account and had not received any confirmation order email. The lady asked for my post code and it came up with no order information and then used my card number and said no order had come up with that card and my account would not be debited.
I was sure when i ordered it, it went through, it asked me to confirm the amount for just under £250 in which i did. The lady put me on hold and then confirmed that their system should of never have let people order any wiis as they had none in stock and their was a glitch in their system. Sorry people.0
