I think I've found a company that will ship to the UK and accepts Paypal (£175 delivered) but I'll wait to see what happens before I recommend them (I've been here twice before with a French company and German company - both accepting cards and then emailing me to ask for Bank transfer) there's no point just giving a list of places on here unless they actually deliver the goods.
If I get anywhere I will post a recommendation.

Tom, do you want to use paypal? I'd personally think twice about companies that accept it. Bank transfer is completely safe and the preffered method of payment in Europe. There is no need to be worried about security as you are providing no more information than is written on a cheque that you would send them.

On another note I spent about 4 days looking and got very disheartened especially over last weekend when nothing was released. I eventually got 2 on the same day from JL and Amazon so have faith. Dont force yourself into dealing with foreign companies that you havent heard of or are unsure of.
    You killed me scooter!!

Roughly translates as - where you want your goods delivered in another country where Pixmania has a website, you've got to use that site. It's the country of delivery that determines which site you buy from.

It does open a bit of a can of worms - if a French customer can get one, why can't I?

Anyway - good spot but sorry (désolé). Unless you've kept that French pen pal you made back in school...

I've only just discovered the Wii (yes yes i know) and was thinking of getting one for me, it's not for xmas or the kids just little ole me.

Came across this post and didn't realise they are so hard to get hold of, however I've been looking on ebay this morning and saw one go for £261 and thought ok it's just a one of.

then saw another sell for £297.89, I mean is this for real? are ppl really paying this kind of money, I thought the RRP was £179 or am I missing something, like are there different models etc.

It's a simple supply-demand thing. Nintendo could up their RRP by £100 and I bet there'd still be shortages in the UK. Not enough stock of a highly prized item means people who have the product and want to sell can charge what they want. I can draw you a pretty picture describing this if you'd like...

I guess there's also the point made earlier about different currencies - someone could look at a Wii being sold by an ebayer in Germany for £300 - mistake it for 300 Euro, think 'That's a good price' and not realise until they've read their credit card statement. So be very careful.

All-in-all, it's not good news for Money Savers.
  • good morning wii hunters have you bagged a wii yet and no im not taking the wii wii.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • Hi, Can i just ask that getting the console is good for 179.99, but if you want to play 2 or more players, dont you need to buy extra remotes and nunchucks? and the games can cost cost anything up to 40.00, so some of the bundles are good deals! I would also like to thank this forum as i managed to get a console last week, but then realised i needed to buy some of the extras, so has still worked out alot of money. I dont feel bad though, as it isnt very often the family has a treat ;-)

I think my bank charge £20 per bank transfer so it works out expensive.
