No probs
- I do need to stop this Wii obsession though
Your obsessed!! I got mine 4 days ago and still visit this thread more than I do the Gambling thread where I normally hang out. I dont need anymore Wii's and was planning to get back on with my life but this thread is strangely addictive. Weird! You killed me scooter!!0 -
obviously the people who use this forum are plain lazy or just stupid either way you have no sense of humour.
use that thing between your ears that god gave you , if i can find all these sites in literally 5 mins im sure you know how to work out how to buy the thing.
there are loads of wii`s and they are easy to get just use your brain people.
i sold 30 wii`s last year and close to fifty this year. i supplied the sites since most of the people on this forum are to tight to pay over the odds and just bich and moan about it. and hate people who sell on ebay.
there a reason why i can sell 50 and you can`t even find one lol
What is it with you people. People come on here for help finding something they want at a good price and have to put up with trolls like you. I have nothing against people who sell on Ebay as in my view its a case of supply and demand. However I do have a problem with people like you trying to tout your wares on a money saving board and making completely pointless, insulting posts. If you know how to get them and want to help then please do. If not just f&#*k off!!You killed me scooter!!0 -

I do feel it is a carefully engineered marketing ploy to make the Wii the must have toy at Xmas through creating a herd mentality. Why Else would Ninty spend so much on TV advertising if they felt that they couldnt satisfy demand.
one way we can all fight back is by sticking to our guns and only paying RRP and equally creating a rumour mill around Speculators losing large amounts of Cash..... It will be a self fulfillng prophecy...watch the Prices Tumble
Not really, Dixons and Currys are saying why have no stocks and are reporting they are doing well at upselling to a Xbox 360 or PS3.
Can you honestly says a company with a million pound plus advertising department would be increasing demand only for the competition to get in there.
Purely and simply there are not enough to go round. It was hot last year and it's been hot all year, I can't remember any time this year and of my local stores has actuially had them in stock, all year they have had the "coming soon" stickers on the box, that's Game, Asda, Tesco.
They are in short supply, and whilst I know there seems to be this rumour that there will be boat's arriving for xmas the UK is a small market, and the US needs them too, the US is a much bigger market, they'll concentrate on there. You can't divert them easily as UK and US ones will have different power adapter, (110V vs 240V) and the plug is not interchangable. it would be at least a months lead time to change the production line and get them into the UK market if you include shipping them over here.
Nintendo have themselves said it's not been a seasonal increase it's been unprecidented demand all year round. They've been ramping productin up this year, but it's not helping, they can't hit a magic turbo button for the xmas period.
Much as it pains me to say it if you stick to only paying RRP your chasing a small ever decreasing number of consoles, the retailers know it and are using it as a excuse to bundle slow moving games and "sports packs" no-one wants for full RRP, when there discounted everywhere else.
It doesn't matter what the hot Xmas toy is it alweays sells out and there is always the "boat load coming soon " rumour. Why do people believe it year after year?0 -
I emailed Nintendo asking why there was such a shortage in the UK but seems to be plenty in Europe and why they put pressure on Amazon.de and France to stop selling to the UK, they do't actually answer why there is a shortage in the UK but seems to be plenty in Europe, heres the reply
Dear Customer, thank you for your e-mail.
Nintendo is working at its maximum production level to supply as many Wii hardware units as possible during the busy Christmas period.
The demand for Wii hardware globally has been unprecedented and higher than Nintendo could ever have anticipated. Nintendo are now in a position in which seasonality demand trends are being broken, therefore the demand for Wii hardware is constant throughout the whole year globally. Due to this phenomenon it is possible that the demand for Wii hardware may outstrip supply.
As an indicator of the commitment to ensure stock reaches the market to meet demand, Nintendo have continually been increasing its annual Wii hardware shipment forecasts throughout the year. For the fiscal year beginning 1st April 2007 and ending 31st March 2008 Nintendo have raised their annual shipment forecast for Wii hardware by a total of 3.5 million units globally, Nintendo now plans to ship 17.5 million Wii units globally, versus the 14 million units initially planned in April 2007.
Production levels for Wii hardware are also at the highest they have ever been, with a maximum production capability of 1.8 million units globally per month.
We are doing everything possible to supply continued levels of stock and meet demand as quickly as possible. Unfortunately we do not have any information on delivery dates or which stores will get the bulk of these deliveries, however larger store chains in towns and cities will receive the most.
We havent told European Amazon stores to stop selling to the UK. We were happy they were selling to the UK but Amazon took it upon themselves to stop selling to the UK because of the large amounts of orders and the Christmas rush they will soon be under from their own citizens.0 -

Trolls are like stray dogs, feed them & they'll keep coming back. Ignore them & they'll go away.

Well thats the Amazon/Nintendo rumour sorted. Just the warehouses and the 1st week of December one to sort now. If you are going to get one off ebay, then I would say now is the time as it is saturated for the next week, with over 5500 consoles listed.
To the person who is saying people are thick and stupid, you advertise yours on ebay and pay quite alot in fees and take a chance that they could go missing in the post, I advertised all mine elsewhere made more money than on ebay and didnt pay a single penny in fees or anything else, and got people to pick them up.
Now before anybody as a go about me selling for a profit, I placed my orders in September and took a chance after doing some research. When I ran out I pointed people in other directions and where to get them from.
To the Mods, I suggest this is now changed to a wii discussion thread and a new wii spotted thread started.
I wish everybody good luck in their search for a Wii, if you can get away with not getting one for Christmas and wait till next year for a birthday, your money will go further than buying off ebay and people like myself.0 -

Go on then - which one of these ships to the uk AND accepts UK credit cards? Admitedly I could email them all individually but if you already know...0 -
I really don't trust ebay at the moment and websites I have never heard of.
I think I would prefer to walk into Argos / Game / Currys / Dixons etc. and physically walk away with the Wii in my hand.
However - I am having no joy finding one in my area at all.0 -
Argh! The search is back on...
My S-I-L is after a Wii for her children.
I was on Amazon 1-2am last night but nothing.
I think JL is probably her best bet but I got mine from there so can't get her one which is a pain.
Back to the grindstone.....
Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.0
