    Thanks Jess :)
  • I feel really sick today, raging temperature, very achy, banging headache, sore throat, and unbelivably tired.

Strange thing is though all I have wanted to do today is eat all kinds of things I wouldn't normally look at. Is this my body's way of telling me I need something?

And as I forgot to say earlier, I'm South (much to my mother's dismay, she can't get me to move back home to Scotland :p).

    Hello Fredsnail and everybody.

Please can I join up for October?
I have decided to give it my all this month as I have been suffering from a bad attack of non-committal, wishy washy faffing around and need to get rid of this weight before it starts to cause me real problems.

I will have a proper read of the thread and the challenges but to begin with -
    I am 13st 8lbs (5'4")
I would like to do the 5lb/pm challenge and I live in the South
And I would love to sign up for the Channel Swim challenge. I am a very inefficient swimmer so I won't get far but I will use up a lot of energy!

I see Wednesday is weigh day and I'm currently doing the Slimming World online which I have a bad habit of signing up to then not doing. This runs out about 20/11 so if I get stuck in now it won't be a waste!

Good luck to everybody for October and I would be very interested to hear how people keep their motivation going long-term as I really want to do this this time.
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.

Hi franby, welcome and good to have you on board. :T I follow slimming world diet and usually get weighed on Thursday or Friday depending on what shift I'm on at work. I find SW really easy to follow and fits in with my erratic working pattern.

I am roughly the same weight as you now ( I have lost 20lb on SW in 3 months) and slightly shorter than you.

I have been following this thread all the time I've been doing SW and have been trying to reduce my carb intake, things like bread and pasta, as many posts on here warn of the side effects of overindulging in these foods.

You will find your own way of dieting that fits in with your lifestyle. I have found this thread to be full of helpful advice and eye opening nutritional imformation. The exercise challanges are really motivating and helps me do more than I would normally do.

    Good luck on your journey.

Thank you for the welcome Frodo - off to make plans!

You are right about the carbs on SW - one of my pitfalls has been that self-indulgent extra bowl of noodles or pasta in the evening - it may be free but it's really an extra meal:o
So my '3 meals a day and nothing except fruit after teatime' rule is firmly back in place!
