Can you sign me up for the 5lbs challenge and put me in the North team please.

First day of my lifestyle change today and I'm feeling really motivated. I went on to http://www.myfitnesspal.com yesterday (thanks Occy) and I have to say its a great site. If I manage the 5lbs this month it will be the first time I've ever lost weight by cutting back. Off for a run.

I'm in on the 5lb monthly challengs and I'd like to (wii) jog the channel.
I'd quite like to swim some of it too, but that depends on how nice my local pool turns out to be ;). Does it matter if I mix and match a bit?

2lb loss for me this week! Starting as I mean to go on!

Can I join the challenges too?

    -5lb challenge
    -Team North
-I'll aim to walk the Channel (just once to start with)

    Thank you!

I've also lost my extra 1cm in height according to the weighing machine, which is probably where one of those pounds went :rotfl:

Good luck for October everyone! x

EDITED TO ADD: btw my starting weight (last week's) is 16st 12lb... eep

    Hey All,

If all goes well this should be my last month of consistent weight loss I will need. I guess I have between 6lbs and 13lbs to hit my target weight although as you can see I have a broad target mainly because I have no firm idea what my weight should be.

Fred, can you put me in for the 5lb challenge, South Team and once across the channel, is France nice this time of year?

    Arghhh, can anyone help please:

I came across the following penne pasta from ASDA:

    ASDA Chilli Penne
    ASDA Wholewheat Penne
    ASDA Penne

The chilli penne has 152calories per 100g. Wholewheat penne has 148calories per 100g and normal penne has 156calories per 100g. Now I'm a bit wary about those figures because normal penne has around 330calories per 100g give or take a few. I called them up and they said it was correct. I still think it's too good to be true because pasta is like rice in that it's carb loaded, so I don't understand how it can be correct. I even called up again (thats how skeptical i am) and another advisor still said it was correct.

Still don't know whether to believe it. Even their spaghetti is 156calories per 100g. Link here

It just seems to be a few of their pastas though that have ridiculously low calorie contents. What do you guys think? If it is seriously true, then that would be fab for anyone on their weight loss journey.

Fred, can you please put me down for the 5 lb a month challenge and the exercise one - I'll go for 1 length on the bike and will see how I get on later in the month as I'm not too sure what that will work out as timewise. Not sure if I want to join the group challenge as I've been slipping lately so don't want to drag the team down.

Just worked it out. Most wholewheat pasta is labelled as 330 cals per 100g as sold. Asda's Wholewheat pasta is 148 cals cooked - it's a bit strange (and possibly sneaky?) for them to label like that when every other supermarket works it out as dry pasta.
