Hey Everyone,
Tried to post earlier but kept losing my internet connection - hope I'm not too late for the chart.
Well I've fallen off the diet wagon, I've had so much family drama lately that food is the last thing on my mind! I have lost 1 lb though- must be all of the stress and sleepless nights, lol.
Got a couple of bits to add to the exercise chart, will update tomorrow. Nowhere near target anyway so no point in rushing for the chart
Mandz - Congratulations on giving up the diet coke! :T Have you had many headaches? I would love to quit (would save me a fortune!) but I always get terrible headaches if I don't have it each day, so I've never stuck it out for more than a few hours, lol. Anyone know how long they would last?0 -

No headaches so far, no bad sleep patterns neither. I was expecting the shakes for some reason. Nearly brought a bottle today at about 6pm but decided against it as it was way too expensive from the local shop.PAD Maker0 -

well i thought i had done well 1 lb gain dont get it however exercise
5 miles of walking and x 6 of 10 mins on that bottom step, dont understand the weight gain but not giving up i have started to calorie count but doing 1500 so might drop it to 1400 and see if weight shifts
or you may have to try 1600+
under eating with a lot of physical activity can (and does very easily for me) put you in starvation mode
one thing that defiantly helps me is to have a couple of days where i eat a 200-300 under my target cals and then have a day where i eat 500+ over it.0 -
alliwantistosave wrote: »Ok Eric silly question what should your peak heart rate be? as when I did my run yesterday my peak HR was 215 is this bad ? (I'm feeling a little foolish asking this but I thought I understood this but it looks like I don't). Also what is the best HR for fat burning ?
There is no fat burning zone its a myth, in general the harder you work (higher heart rate) the more calories you burn, the longer you work the more calories you burn. The higher the intensity the more you will break down your lean muscle mass so the more your body has to repair (eat protein within 60 mins and regularly thought the day) so the more of a metabolic boost you will get.
However there are zones for your heart rate that affect, for most people in reality there are 2 zones, aerobic and anaerobic, its explained nicely here
http://www.brianmac.co.uk/hrm1.htm
As a general rule of thumb your max HR is 226 - your age for women or 220 - your age for men however there are several different formula and it varies from individual to individual based on genetics and fitness, 215 does seam a little high thou, but it could be normal.
I just dont seam to be able to get mine over 178 and I can not improve my fitness enough to bring my HR down whilst running so that I can run faster. It may be because I am so heavy and have a lot of muscle, Im not sure thou.0 -

The headaches come from caffeine withdrawal, if your still drinking coffee and tea (or red bull) you wont get them.
Caffeine causes the arteries to restrict, after about 4 days without it they expand back to normal and the increased blood flow causes the head ache, but it passes and pain killers stop it
humans can not taste caffeine and in terms of dieting it works against what you are trying to achieve since it causes glycogen to be released rapidly from the liver which raises insulin levels. I ran 5k @ 6.9mph, but if I run a mile @ 7.5 mph my HR is as high as the 5K but I am gasping like crazy for air, I just cant breath fast enough.0 -
Thanks to Fred for this week's chart. Well, wouldn't you know it, I started to put a little weight back but then today, it's down again! 68.8 kg today, that's - 0.6 kg from yesterday.
Constipation does make a huge difference!
I'm now well into the 10+ stones and heading down away from the 11s. This morning I weigh 10 st 11 1/2 lb. It's many years since I weighed that.
I've noticed before that the line on the graph starts to creep up and then bang! it takes a lurch downwards.
I heard from some old friends yesterday. They'd started to put on weight, he'd got to 18 stone, decided to do something about it but not to 'go on a diet' as they put it. They started eating smaller portion sizes and doing a lot more walking. Where they live is near the edge of a deer-park, an old abbey, they do a lot of walking anyway, so not a big change in their lifestyle. Doesn't it make you sick. If it was only that simple for all of us.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

I went cold turkey with caffeine, no tea or coffee (don't drink cola) day 2 I had the most horrendous headache, it felt like I had an axe through my head, took a couple of pain killers and it went. Now I limit myself to 2 coffees a day max and drink redbush and herbal teas.0

Thanks for the chart Fred, but please can my scores be restarted so it's like i'm starting again afresh? So it's -2.5 this week and overall... dont want an echo of old failures really....:oBetty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....
