How do you find Tai Chi?

I am really enjoying it Vix. Takes a bit of getting used to, but the instructor is taking it quite slow so that all of us newbies get to know the moves.

The only trouble I am having is that it is playing havoc with the tendonitis in my shoulder. I thought that because the movements were slow it would be OK, but finding that Bootcamp is easier on the shoulder than Tia Chi. I asked my physio about it yesterday, she said to carry on but if I think a movement is going to hurt to just imagine it which she said was "just a good" If only it was so easy we could all just sit in our armchairs and imagine that we were doing Insanity with Matryoshka :rotfl:

As expected I have gained 1 lb this week. Really need to get my act together - the summer is on it's way and I have promised myself a whole new holiday wardrobe.

  • STS today, sorry folks.

Haven't been to aqua-fit for a few days - ice and snow not cleared outside gym, back strain, and then on Monday DH had an appointment and needed the car. I'm going at 11.30 am today however.

  • -3lbs for me this week - thanks, Fred.

I have started using the My Fitness Pal app on my phone. Does anyone use it? It gives you a certain number of calories to eat per day, and you log everything you eat and all the exercise you do. It lets you eat back your exercise calories though - so I have 1660 cals a day, but if I do some sort of exercise that burns off 200 cals, then I can eat 1860 cals etc.

I have never counted calories before, but I made a deal with myself that I would try this for a month and see what it's like - if I don't like it then I can go back to what I was doing before. It is definitely encouraging me to work out more, since more exercise = more food. But it is also teaching me quite a lot about portion control, since I had no idea what I was eating before.

It also tracks your fat, carbs, protein, calcium, iron, vit A, vit C, potassium, sodium etc.

I don't really like how accountable it is making me, although I understand that it is actually a good thing! :p

3.5 lbs off this week :j:j:j I knew I was due a good loss after all of that exercise. I've also been eating pretty well, even the meal out at the weekend - probably ate about 1/3 of what I'd usually have, :):o!

    Hi

2lb lost today though, as you know, this is the same 2lb that I put on last week! Still, it's gone. Now 13st 6lb (again).

I've also rejoined Sl*mming W*rld despite swearing I wouldn't but I'm feeling very positive about it so hopefully this time I'll get my money's worth!

No exercise worth reporting but I'm hoping to get into this over the next two weeks :o.

Hope everybody's had a good week.

No your not, I can tell you I havent got one either, lol.

-1/2lb loss finally for me this week. My first bit of weight loss in about 3 months.

No exercise as yet as had a very traumatic few weeks. My son has has emergency surgery and has been quite poorly. When I haven't been working all hours I've been looking after him (even though he's a six foot twenty year old he's still my baby!).

Should have mentioned that there is a website too, that does the same and more than the app: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/

    No, you're not!

DH and I each have a phone which: makes and receives phone calls, sends and receives text messages, and that's really all we require it to do.
