I am reporting a 1LB LossThis week thank you Fred :A

I cannot believe that, but it is what my scales say. I'm so glad I didn't weigh last week as I think I would have been mortified.

Welcome to the Newbies :D Keep posting and there is a lot of information and help here..... I know I have used it ;)

Lolly - Happy Belated birthday - glad you had a nice evening out and let your hair down

Jess - Sorry to hear about your shoulder :( I hope it is feeling a little better now? I know how painful shoulder injuries can be, just take it slowly and don't try to do too much too soon .

Beanielou - well done on the loss this week and love the snoopy avatar :T

Keep up the good work everyone, I know this is a difficult time of year, but remember to STEP AWAY FROM THE CHOCOLATES :rotfl:

I've been watching all the stuff on the tele today about diet and illness and I have to do this as I am obese (horrible word isn't it?) and need to take this seriously, though I suspect it's going to be the scenic route.

I love how you've described it as the scenic route!!! :D That pretty much sums up the route I'm taking, lol! I'll have been on this thread for a year on 2nd Jan and have lost the grand total of 13 lbs in that time :rotfl:. I'd lost about 1.5 stone by the 5th or 6th month in, but then I went on holiday twice... and left my motivation over there :o.
I've accepted that it's going to take me a long time (willpower is definitely not my strong point!), but as long as we're making the effort, and posting on here, watching the programmes, etc, then we can't be too hard on ourselves :).
  • Thanks Jess444. I am now 16st 14lbs. A total loss of 21lbs so far. Xmas may be a problem with my DD when she comes back from Uni. Any suggestions please?

    Morning

Thank you for the charts Fredsnail.

Lolly101 - belated Happy Birthday! - yes, I was a bit embarrassed at having to report a gain this week, especially after talking about wanting to lose in December!

But I think that coming on here and being honest is all part of it as is accepting that it's going to be an up and down journey and my willpower will ebb and flow.

Now I have two little voices in my head, one of which is saying 'that's the sensible, realistic way to look at it ' and the other is saying 'yeah, yeah, yeah, excuses'. But I'm banishing the negative voice and carrying on with my up and down journey and choosing to see it as a positive challenge rather than a daunting task.

Hope you're all having a good week.

Hi & welcome to our lovely thread :D
The way to do it I think is in baby steps and a day at a time.
Break your weight loss into little goals
ie first 1/2 sone, first stone, down into next stone ect
You will get lots of support here.
    Keep posting and good luck.

Thank you for the lovely welcome :)

I think I need to get decent scales as I know that when i went to weight watchers those scales and my own were a couple of pounds out and it makes all the difference!! Might just get a good old fashioned set of scales that are not digital lol!

I've just been through so much last few years and food has been the only thing that I turn too that won't "judge me" if you get me, i constantly get the "hows the diet " from my mum as she's adament that I should lose weight which I know I do but don't need the constant reminders etc!

    New Day today though :D

Yes, get decent scales. I got this one: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8321808/c_1/1|category_root|Home+and+furniture|14417894/c_2/2|14417894|Bathroom|14418043/c_3/3|cat_14418043|Bathroom+scales|14418073.htm

To get the most accurate weight, weigh first thing in the morning, starkers, after going to the loo and before eating or drinking anything. Weights in the evening are going to be at least a couple of pounds higher than in the morning, and if you're dressed i.e. at WW meetings, clothes weigh more.

Franby64, yes, I have the up and down journey but so long as the path leads generally downwards I don't mind. today, for instance, I weigh 66.5 kg, lower than I've been in.....however many years.
