I believe the DNA thing is possible, if CSI is to be believed since they did it on an episode to determine the father of a baby a murdered girl had been carrying.

But a termination is a hard thing to go through and i get the feeling the OP wants to move on and try to get on with their lives, while a part of me feels that if this had happened to me I would be full of anger at the guy and wanting him to be caught in anyway possible I can also understand that not everyone would feel this way.

Good luck OP, so glad your mum and boyfriend are supporting you.

  • I am so glad you have found the courage to speak to rape crisis. They are the best people to speak to. It is great your boyfriend has been understanding about what happened. Even though your mom is anti-abortion, I think she may surprise you under the circumstances. I hope whatever decision you make, you can find a certain element of peace. I will be thinking of you and wish you well. xxxxx

I think OP's mum has already surprised her. She thought mum would be anti aborting the result of all this - but has turned out to be first and foremost on her daughters side. Like I said - that is one Diamond Mum there:T

She has put aside all her own personal thoughts/feelings/life and got right in there at her daughters side in this - so kudos to her for that:T

It is always good when families are able to put aside their own thoughts on something to support a family member.

I would say to OP continue with counselling for both the rape and the termination but I'm sure you'll get through.

Well done you for finding the strength to speak to your mum and boyfriend, and ringing the helpline.

If you would like to 'speak' to me about the termination procedure, feel free to send me a pm. I had it done for a missed miscarriage and can assure you that it was extremely quick, painless and quick recovery (surgical method). Even though my circumstances were very different (we had lost a planned and much wanted pregnancy), it felt like a huge weight off my shoulders after I had the surgery and could start to move on.

    Take care xx
