Yes I have driven a new corsa, infinately better, and the latest Clio beats them both hands down.

The clio/micra are not based on each other, drive each to find out.

Both are based on the Renault-Nissan B platform, and share most mechanical components. How exactly does driving a car tell you about what is underneath? :rotfl:

The new Corsa is not a fair comparison -- the Micra has been around for 8 years. Compare with the Corsa of the time, and the latter looks very poor indeed. Wheezy engine, terrible gearchange, no feel to the steering whatsoever and woefully unreliable with snapped camshafts and all sorts of electrical faults.

Unless of course you're referring to the new Micra, in which case I would agree with you. But then that is more a question of Nissan breaking away from bog-standard models generally, and importing the frankly nasty Indian-spec car as a stop-gap to soak up sales.

And I can't remember the last time I even saw a new-shape Micra on the roads, much less had to overtake one.

Fact is, *all* small, poxy hatchbacks are slow, not terribly nice places to be in, and are driven mostly by people who don't care what their car is like. The Micra has just become a cliche because the kind of dunce who perpetuates the myth often drives some nasty piece of dreck like a Corsa or a Clio and doesn't want to be associated with the moniker.

The Ford Focus represents the very bare minimum of what is tolerable IMO -- and even that is pretty nasty.

My mum is on her 3rd Micra now- hassle free driving, extremley reliable, good fuel economy and small enough for her to handle.

With no predudice whatsoever, all small hatches aren't micra bad, the Clio is much better, the new Fiesta is a class above, and I hate Fords;)

Tapping your fingers on the bodywork and leaving a lasting imprint is a good clue
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
