Then it was the Mini Metro.
Nowadays it's the Nissan Micra.
Whenever you come across a queue of traffic driving slowly in a 60 zone, there's always a Micra at the front of the queue. I've overtaken Nissan Micras whilst towing my caravan.
Nissan Micra's are driven by people who know nothing about cars and don't give a damn for other drivers.:mad::mad:
If you see a Nissan Micra, get past it. If you see two women in a Micra, get past it quickly. If you see a Micra being driven by a man wearing a hat, go in the opposite direction immediately!!!
So, what would you suggest I get my Mum? A BMW M3?
I think it is perhaps a bit of a sweeping statement to say that all Micra drivers "don't give a damn for other drivers". Perhaps it is more the case that you hold a misguided sense of self importance and believe that you have more of a right over certain road users.
I wonder how you will react in 20-odd years time when people tell you that you are too slow.0 -

You should get her a car she can handle with ease. If she can handle a BMW M3, then get her one. If she can handle a Range Rover, get her one of them. If she can't handle a Micra, buy her an electric scooter and let her drive on the pavements.
The problem with Micra drivers is that most of them can't even handle them - as is testified by the number of them being driven so slowly.
And I certainly don't have a sense of self-importance - I leave that to BMW drivers. Me, I would say more a sense of self-preservation on roads full of mediocre drivers.
And if anyone thinks you can't overtake whilst towing a caravan - then they're not a very intelligent driver. Towing has a speed limit of 50mph on single carriageway roads. Overtaking a Micra doing 25mph is easy on a clear road and perfectly safe and lawful. After all, I don't want all those behind thinking it's me holding everybody up, do I?"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

Have you stopped to think that there are other factors here, i.e. what we can afford; what she needs and is practical (i.e. a small little run around); what she wants.
And as for the patronising "if she can't handle a Micra, buy her an electric scooter", she has a licence that says she can handle one. That, I believe, is sufficient and there is no need for her (or anyone else driving a Micra) to be independantly judged by trolls like you.0 -
Is it a one owner,"Main Dealer" ? probably not at that price. And "Similar to a Clio?0

If had a pound for every smart thing you say, I’d be very poor indeed."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

What, and you saying that I should not buy a Micra for my Mum because people tend to drive them slow is supposed to be a smart comment?0 -

Why don't you read what I wrote? If you read it properly, you would see that I didn't say you shouldn't buy your Mum a Micra, what I said was (and I quote):
"You should get her a car she can handle with ease. If she can handle a BMW M3, then get her one. If she can handle a Range Rover, get her one of them. If she can't handle a Micra, buy her an electric scooter and let her drive on the pavements."
I never said she couldn't. The word 'if' is not difficult to understand."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
