Morning all, and a belated Happy New Year! It was Mr Penguin's birthday on New Year's day. We spent the weekend with his parents. The two of us went for a long walk that day, for the Penguin AGM. We reviewed the past year, and made plans for the new one.
Mr P got an egg incubator for his birthday, so we were deciding what varieties we want to hatch this year.
Children still in bed, so will tidy the kitchen then get our things together for school and w*** tomorrow.
Notice that a lot of people have removed their festive avatars. Mine will stay, with my house decorations, until Twelfth Night.
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Morning all
Not a good start to the back to school attempt. DS has lost his school tie, did not discover until this morning that his boots were covered in mud and neglected to make DD's sandwiches last night after he loaded the dishwasher. I've had to write a note to the school re the missing tie.
I didn't get to sleep until 1am as I was worrying myself over the finances which seem to get worse not better. I really wish DH would listen to me about not spending when we don't need things. Then DD woke me up at 5.30 as she needed the toilet, I couldn't get back to sleep then when I woke her again at 7.15 she had wet the bed
Still, onwards and upwards, the day can't get any worse, can it?Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Up early for me! (((Hugs))) for all those with children going back to school. I too used to love having mine at home, the hols seemed to fly by!
Today I am going to try to make some bread rolls (have only made loaves and pizza dough in the bm so far). I have 2 more loads of washing to do, mainly bedding from the visitors.
Then I really must find out about our endowment as time is apparently running out  My treat will be to sit down and start on another fluffy scarf (but for me:D )
breakfast - hm muesli
lunch - hm soup
dinner - Nasi Goreng (fried rice using up a lot of the leftovers!)
Have a good day!

Morning All
My children dont go back till tomorrow but today we had a dry run of getting up early - DS got up early but wont get dressed. DD has only just surfaced - she would normally get her bus now - extra early night tonight methinks.
Also got up early because need to drop my car off at a garage 30mins away, is a routine thing and is covered by the warranty so thats ok. Plan to pick up courtesy car then head round my sisters to chivvy them along (she is always late) then heading into Basildon to go ice skating. Am looking forward to it but have everything crossed that nothing gets broken tonight. Then will have a buffet chinese for lunch (budgeted). When get home will get on with my FL jobs. All uniform is done and bags packed.
So will have something on toast for dinner tonight which will also be nice after all the rich food recently.
N9eav - I hate the sales, I can count on one hand all the bargains Ive ever got in my lifetime in the Jan sales. I am a 12/14 and size 7 shoe which appears to be the same size as the people who went shopping in the sales before me. (Actually think I might be nearer a size 16 at this precise mom in time :rotfl: )
Anyway must get on need to dry my hair and check out the FL challenge, just about to put some washing in and have emptied the DW so far.
Have a great day.0 -
Morning All - Hope we are well
Just a quick one for now, kids are slowly getting ready for school, DD is getting dressed and the trousers I ironed for her are too tight. Got to Hunt around now for a new pair. Urgh!
Will try and call the Doctor's this morning ref my ear/head, sadly - its still no better. Can only get in today, as Thurs Im going to Birmingham Children's Hospital with DS and Friday, will be working extra to make up for finishing early on Thurs.
Best go and hava a shower. Take care all, have a lovely day,
love as usual xxxHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Good morning all
Hopefully the sales will be good because that is where I am headed this morning. I am badly needing new clothes and asked people for money for xmas to buy what I was needing, so hopefully I will be lucky.
My husband goes back to work tommorow, thankfully, it is nice having hime here the first few days, but he gets under my feet after that. My oldest daughter goes back to school on Monday, but my younger daughter does not start nursery until later on in the month (dont have a date yet). She was at playgroup up until xmas so is not going to be happy when she sees her sister go into school and then she has to come home.
Anyway off to the sales. Hope you all have a nice day.0 -
Morning all
I've never found anything in the sales either -mind you - there is absoultly nothing I or any other memeber of the family needs at the moment so it's not a problem.
Not looking forward to DD's going back to school tomorrow and Friday and not looking forward to going to see DD2's specialist in London tomorrow but I'll shove on a brave face
Not a great deal to do today - a quick swish and swipe of the bathroom but I'm leaving the rest of it until next week when I'm on my own - today I think it will be *shakermakers* at the ready and maybe a wander to the park later if it stays dry.

Morning all!!!
Happy New Year! (I haven't said it to you all yet)
OH started his new job yesterday, starts at 7:30. Early "symapthy" mornings are going to have to stop - its killing me!!!
N9eav - its not just normal sized people that have trouble in the sales. I'm a tiny 5' person (one of those dwarves you mentioned!) and there's never anything to fit me either. I wonder if its all a scam to make us buy more full priced clothes?!!! I avoid them like the plague. I have a £25 M&S voucher, and £30 of George or ASDA vouchers to spend, but not til after the sales - I spend more in stress relief than I save!
Hugs to all!
Happy MS Wednesday!
Luv PG0
