Anybody use tesco webmail?

All very well but its been almost 2 WEEKS of mayhem from Tesco broadband/email. Why cant ofcom get involved.??? If Tesco CANT provide a decent working broadband service they should admit to it and give up. This is 2011!!!! We have come a long way since crystal set days...it seems Tesco are at that level when it comes to broadband. It was quicker to get to the moon in the sixties!! Can anyone advise on BT deal phone /broadband package? Ive phoned them 3 times and admit I'm confused...any advice appreciated.
I don't want them to give up, I want them to restore my emails. After that if they announce they are closing the service then fine at least we will have notice to set up different accounts.0 -
I understand where your coming from fortyplus and agree that Tesco MUST, not should get the system running again PDQ and restore any missing customer's data. then they should examine their whole broadband 'capabilities'. If they can't give some assurances there will be no repeat of the present problems they should pack it in. In most cases this is not a life or death situation but at this time in history internet services must be reliable. Where would we be if the electricity went down for almost two weeks??!!!0

Thanks for that 1090 (hope that's not too familiar of me
) That's a lot of help and I will get onto it as soon as it is all working again. Much appreciated!
No need to lose it - go into settings (when its working again!) and set to forward to another email address. If you also set it to remove messages from the server you may never need to look in there again. You can set up (for example) Windows Live Hotmail to receive your Tesco emails and even set the Tesco address as your default so that emails you send appear to be coming from there.
I haven't been a paying customer of Tesco for years but I still use the email address for exactly the same reason you describe.0 -
Have people got their information back yet e.g old emails/addresses?
Thanks0 -
My emails are working fine now, but they are downloaded into outlook so I did not lose anything. But my Q is, has anyone got a refund for the time the service was out of action? I have not even had replies to my emails to the CS. The sooner I sort out another provider the better!0

hi all
after continually calling tesco to complain & nagging as to when all will be restored, i am pleased to say that this morning all my addresses and e mails were successfully back plus a mail from tesco -
Dear Customer,
As you may be aware for the past week our email service has been experiencing a series of performance issues.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and for not contacting you sooner. We would also like to take this opportunity to assure you that all available engineers are working round the clock to rectify the problems and restore the services back to the standard we all expect.
Many customers will now notice that the speed of the service is much improved and we anticipate the performance will continue to improve from now on.
If you are one of the small number of customers unable to see old emails, we also want to assure you, we will be restoring all mail back into the accounts as soon as we can. We expect this to happen in a few days' time.
In order to undertake this essential maintenance we may have to restrict access between the hours of 9pm and 6am over the next few days.
We recognise that the service that we have offered you over the last week has been unsatisfactory. Once again we are sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience.
We will be writing to you in the next few weeks to tell you about additional improvements which we will be making to the service to ensure a much better experience.
Yours sincerely,
,
so hopefully normal service will now be resumed folks
