Hi again email WAS working this evening just tried again its 22:12 Hrs cannot make connx AT ALL bloody joke. Spoke to guy earlier 2nite re broadband dwn load speed they increased it on Sun to 2mb (wow)to 'retain customer but after checking its gone down to UNDER one mb guy at Tesco says this is bkas line is 'under tuition' re the 'new' speed. It should be ok in some days. Anyone know if this is true or just a line he's shooting me? MUST go to another isp was thinking of BT but find their package v difficult to understand

No need to lose it - go into settings (when its working again!) and set to forward to another email address. If you also set it to remove messages from the server you may never need to look in there again. You can set up (for example) Windows Live Hotmail to receive your Tesco emails and even set the Tesco address as your default so that emails you send appear to be coming from there.

I haven't been a paying customer of Tesco for years but I still use the email address for exactly the same reason you describe.

Thank you to everyone else for posting on this forum. I was just experiencing a meltdown moment as all of my tesco emails have disappeared today. I was sure I hadn't done anything so I started looking for the problem via google. I've now been into the tesco webmail settings and forwarded all new mails to a different email address, but I seem to have lost everything in my sent items and also in personal folders. What a nightmare. Hope that they get it back soon.

I received an email from support@tesco this afternoon apologising for the problem; they say that they hope to get all old messages restored and the service back to normal.:j In order to do this they anticipate that service limitations will extend over the weekend :(and as they are working throughout the night may have to restrict access between 9pm and 6am. So no change there then.

All very well but its been almost 2 WEEKS of mayhem from Tesco broadband/email. Why cant ofcom get involved.??? If Tesco CANT provide a decent working broadband service they should admit to it and give up. This is 2011!!!! We have come a long way since crystal set days...it seems Tesco are at that level when it comes to broadband. It was quicker to get to the moon in the sixties!! Can anyone advise on BT deal phone /broadband package? Ive phoned them 3 times and admit I'm confused...any advice appreciated.

My billing is from Virgin media - is that system down as well? No emails for another day here.

Hi libertysurf I saw somewhere that Tesco if fact use virgin internet in some manner-I maybe wrong-I may stand corrected- but I definately read it!! Perhaps this is then the problem. Too many fingers in the same pie!!
