Put the picture of your bouquet up now, as some people assume its fine to get something you didn't order and also think its fine to have such shocking customer service, what puzzles me is why the florist who delivered the bouquet accepted the order knowing they hadn't got the stock and why the relay company didn't ask if they could fufill that particular order? I am sure another florist would have accepted it.
Mimi, i have some rather nice red passion roses in at the minute, if you order some and send me the money I will send you a beautiful bouquet! Please note that I may have to substitute them for dandelions, but I am sure that will be just as acceptable, if not, you may travel to my location and pick up something different, but you won't mind doing that, will you?0 -

How is it shocking customer service? the florist has offered to exchange the flowers - like i said - what more could they do?! The op has quite happily said that if the florist had picked another shop then they would of happily gone and got the new bunch. The only quibble now is that they have to travel to a further away shop to get them (although there is no reason given for this?)
How was the florist to know that the parents dont like blue flowers? i didnt see anywhere on the website where it stated "mind reader"
I generally wouldnt care what flowers I got - as long as A, they weren't dead or B, in the shape of a wreath
The OP has only mentioned that they were unhappy because they contained BLUE flowers. If the bunch never contained blue flowers would we still be having the same conversation? probably not.
The OP mentions the florist should have rang them (even though OP never put order in until evening, chances are they didnt get the order until the morning - might be automated reply? - and was too late to call OP) Why couldnt the OP ring the florist to check everything? (waits for the "why should the OP")
EDIT: Piglet25 - IF the florsit never mentioned anything in the T&C's and never offered to replace the flowers then by all means i would be stating similar to you - bad customer service etc. But it isnt the case here - and in case you havent noticed - there isnt just me stating that they dont know what the issue is :-)0 -

I thought you were serious about selling flowers to her until you got to the part about dandelions.
Mind you, you might make quite a bit of money if you did replace with dandelions, going by what some in this thread consider to be acceptable substitutions. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

I don't get this impression at all. The OP made a comparison between what was advertised (and pictured) on the website, and what they received:Flowers I received:
Light blue, white, small looking (can upload picture)
Flowers I ordered:
Orange, purple, yellow (can upload picture)
I absolutely agree, when you look at the picture and see bright colours; reds, oranges, yellows, and what you receive isn't even vibrant and colourful; its not to do with the colour. I'm sure if there had been some wonderful bright blue in with some variety of other summery colours the OP would not have had the same issue with 'individual blooms' being substituted.Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.- Mark TwainArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.0 -
Mimi, the OP didn't order blue. She should have the flowers replaced and re-delivered - end of.
Am going to start a new customer list - the couldn't be arsed what they get list. Who would like to join it?0 -

lol
The reason i think its acceptable is as follows:
OP hasnt said the quality of the flowers have been reduced: they arent dying/wilting etc they just didnt like the colour
OP hasnt mentioned the amount of flowers has been reduced (just the types/colours)
OP clearly never read the T&C's - had the OP read them and disagreed then they didnt need to buy from there
OP wanted the florist to ring them - but never considered ringing the florist to check the order (Which is something a few people would have done having placed the order after the cut off point)
OP is unhappy with the colour of the blue flowers but never mentioned to the florist "not to send blue flowers if need to substitute"
Florist has pointed out that it is within their T&C's BUT as a goodwill gesture has offered to replace the flowers (Because that is what it is - The florist LEGALLY doesnt need to replace them as it is quite clear they CAN change the flowers if needed)0
