I have enough points to get a certificate with the OU but I don't know how to go about getting the certificate, can anyone help? Do you have to phone them or email them, will they post it to me or do I have to go and collect it?
I cannot find anything on their website which says what you have to do apart from which courses you need to get the certificate.

Give them a ring, I've always found them great at handling any request I've made while I've been studying with them. You could ask to speak to the Course Adviser of your most recent course. Thet can then put you onto the right person

If this could be moved to students someone is likely to know there.
I have a feeling it depends on what qualification you are registered on. If you are not registered for the cert then you will need to contact the OU and ask to be registered or your credits linked to the cert.:beer:0 -
For all my qualifications, 2 diplomas and 2 degrees they've always informed me that I've qualified and did I want to claim them.
:beer:Just for one moment, thought I'd found my way.0 -
To get an OU certificate , you need to have the courses named on that specific certificate - not just 60pts worth of courses.
Once you have passed the relevant courses, log in to your online OU account - slect the course from the drop down list ('your course records')at the top of the page and the near the botom of the page it brings up is an option to count towards a qualification - assign the courses to the qualification and the OU should do the rest.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. As my thread was about students but not moneysaving I was unsure where to post it but thankyou for responding and it has been moved now.0 -

I have the courses named on the specific certificate which account to 60 points. I have the courses assigned to the qualification. Guess I need to wait on the OU to contact me or phone them as suggested.0 -
Giving them a little phone call would do no harm and you would know for sure then.:beer:0

You could also check on your student page https://msds.open.ac.uk/students/ (need to log in with your OU computer name or PI, and your password). Mine shows me any qualifications I'm registered for or have already received, and lets me everything I need without having to call, very useful page. If you havent used it before you will need to request a password.0
