    Hi all,

I just upgraded with O2. Got my upgrade code, looked online = rubbish offers. Had a look round, found offer on Phones 4 U for the Galaxy S 2, 300 mins, 300 (I think) texts and 500mb internet for £27/month with a free phone (this was on O2). I've just phoned O2 today and got them to match the deal, but with unlimited texts and some picture messages and stuff thrown in.

I didn't expect them to do it - I went into an O2 shop the other day and they laughed when I asked about the Galaxy S 2 for less than £30/month - but as the deal on Phones 4 U is with O2 I tried my luck and got it.

Can't help but think I should have asked for a cheaper deal!

See hotukdeals 400mins, loads of texts and 1gb of data for £30 per month plus £99 for the handset on a 12 month contract.
Its on mobile.co.uk website and is on the talkmobile network.

    Hi,

I am intending to get a Samsung Galaxy S2 and am trying to figure out which network and offer to choose. My requirements for calls and texts are pretty low. I would be surprised if I go over 300mins for calls or 100 text messages per month. I do think that I'll use the internet on the phone quite a lot so am very keen to get an unlimited data plan.

I need to restrict my choice to O2 or T-Mobile because they are the only networks I can get at my house.

From what I've seen T-Mobile seems a bit cheaper and note that they have a supposedly 'truly unlimited' offer for data on at the moment eg:
    t-mobile.co.uk/shop/pay-monthly/deals/

I've also read that the offer of unlimited internet may only be available from TMobile directly. Which means that the cheaper 3rd party providers that may offer a lower monthly cost and/or cashback opporunities are out of the running.

Can anyone confirm if this is true? Is there any way to get the deal through anyone else for a better price? For example to pick one of a few, I saw this offer that touts "unlimited internet":
    buymobilephones.net/mobile-phones/Samsung/Samsung-Galaxy-S/T-Mobile/T-Mobile-20-%2824mths%29-inc.-Internet/6068707

(Sorry you'll have to copy and paste those as I can't post links yet)

But is that "internet" redefined as web pages only with streaming video and other data blocked/massively slowed once you hit 500mb/month?

Any advice would be most welcome.

    Thanks

Not sure if you can get it through third parties or not but Tmobile gave me the truly unlimited on an 18 month deal, £35 per month for 600 mins unlimited texts and TU internet.

Not sure if they do it on the lower monthly deals, go in / call and ask I guess. I would assume they will provided you pay more for the phone

T-Mobile only offer truly unlimited data directly not via 3rd party

It's automatic on 24months £25+ and needs to be requested on 18month £30+

I got a new Samsung Galaxy S II for a 24-month contract. 26 pounds a month with vodafone. 600 minutes, unlimited texts, 500 mb internet, 500 bt openzone wifi. Paid £6 for the phone (that's what it costs me). Good deal or not? Any change of me returning the phone and haggle a better deal?

Thanks for the replies. Rodenal - did you get the phone for free on that deal?

Typically the tmobile site is currently down - would prefer to order online as can't get to a store in the coming days - but I remember only seeing 24 month contracts on the website. An 18 month one would be more attractive to me.

If you want unlimted for 02 I think the only way is Paygo GiffGaff and buying phone outright.

02 may start doing it soon as Tmobile only started because three network raised the game does anyone know if Tmobile allow teethering.

T-Mobile tell you they don't allow teethering but it works fine ;)
