Lovely afternoon - converted a plastic bag full of Grandad's trousers and old pattered shirts into DS2's 4-5 size wardrobe whilst watching "Drop the Dead Donkey" on 4od.
Cut out trousers, short sleeved shirts, shorts, pjs and a gilet top.......he will be colour co-ordinated :rotfl:
.................... mind you they still have to be sewn up:o

MG you sound like some seamstress. Are you self taught, I'd really like to improve my basic skills and start making some bits.
Did a good hour in the garden of pruning and DH did the strimming and DS1 cut the lawns so it's looking much neater.
An interesting articleThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
My Mum taught me to use a sewing machine when I was still so small I had to stand up to use it:D
I'm rattling out clothes for DS2 because I like to see him nicely turned out and I hate the whole "t-shirt with brand advert on it" choices for toddlers these days................ also - recycling Grandad's old clothes is a good project to start with for MFi5.
I promise, promise, promise not to embellish his clothes wit frou-frou, sequins or feathers though :rotfl:

I have decluttered 'the' drawer - have a voucher for M&S from my reward card. So I will be toddling off to get measured and kitted out - will need to get more too as voucher is for £20 and said drawer is virtually empty. I had been waiting to lose weight and saving my voucher for this time to reward myself..............however since I have put a lot of the stone I have just lost back on. I decided to use the challenge as my incentive to 'feel good' then get into the right frame of mind to meet the weight challenge!!January spends - £587.580

I have masses of peppers... I'm thinking of making stuffed peppers in the SC to freeze using millet, onion, celery, green pepper, tomato and a little bit of feta as the stuffing for a red or orange pepper Each pepper could then be a quick meal to defrost and reheat. Any thoughts/suggestions.
My dad keeps telling me I need to get more of my protein from meat to keep my iron levels up. I need to prove him wrongso may have to eat a LOT of parsley!
Tomorrow I need to:
Order logs
Book massage (my legs are incredibly painful)
Book reflexology/nutrition
Call plasterer
Call flooring people
Call gardener/handyman
Supervise. Qthroom people filling hole in airing cupboard and making good patio (third time lucky)
Supervise electrician finishing off bathroom electrics
Supervise my dad finishing off bathroom painting (he's apparently changing the door handle and bolt too as the old ones don't go)
Clean out the airing cupboard (make sure slats are nailed back)
Start laundry catch-up
Produce three meals for my dad
Do some work0 -
Oh poor Dorastar, what a relief to find your missing bits and pieces, I do things like that.....I'm very forgetful.....
I've had a lovely weekend and have put off the 7 bin liner challenge, but have been thinking about it, not that that's much use!!
Got my scary consultant appointment about my silly leg tomorrowMay I ask for positive vibes around 3pm please....gulp. OH is coming with me, but as he says, he's got a rubbish short term memory so not sure how much "use" he will be, but the moral support will be very welcomed, kind of wish he was here now to give me a hug and tell me to stop being daft and go to sleep!!

Lots of vibes heading your way kittikins. I'm glad your OH is coming along to provide moral support. Take a notepad and paper with you, and make a note before you go of any questions you've got. You can then also write down any answers that you think you might not remember...
Lovely day here today... I haven't dared check the forecast to see whether it will last all week as I'm off from Wednesday0 -
Kittikins, thinking of you today.
Greenbee, this is some list. About the stuffed peppers - do some with rice, carrots and cumin. Also I would skip the feta cheese - obviously I love it but doubt that you should put it in the peppers from now; better keep it for when you eat them.

Thanks FW ... By the way, the reason Sofia was my favourite place to visit for work last year was because of the food... One of the few places I travelled to where I was fed salad and vegetables and delicious cottage cheese
I'm so not looking forward to orlando... Everything will be fried!

Grenbee - does your Dad want you to up your protein or do you need to increase your iron?
Actually the real question should be - has your Doctor recommended that you increase your protein or increase your iron?
Just asking because they are two separate issues - and because Sugah is calling later and I can ask her IYSWIM?
To up the protein in your stuffed pepper you could add some beans or lentils to your millet to create a complete protein (Grain + pulse = complete protein)
Vegetable Foods Rich in Iron
Wholemeal bread and flour
Iron-fortified cereals - Bran, Branflakes, Weetabix
Beans and pulses e.g. lentils, chick peas, haricot, kidney, pinto, baked, butter, peas
Nuts - almonds, cashews, Brazils, walnuts
Dried fruit - apricots, figs, dates
Green vegetables - watercress, spinach
Rich fruit cake, gingerbread, ginger biscuits
Curry powder
Cocoa, chocolate, black treacle
Hope this helps
