DH is in ds2's room sorting out his puzzles, chucking what is no good and donating what he wants to the primary school the both boys went too.
There are a pile of black bags in my room packed up and ready to go out tomorrow for a charity to come and collect.
ds1 is off tomorrow so he is going to start emptying his bedroom.Boiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
what an industrious matrix today
I've been knitting Ma-in-Laws present and it was quite fiddly. Popeye hasn't been well and when he finally emerged and I showed him how far I'd got he pointed to my shredded index finger. I have knitted until my fingers bled  Extreme knitting :rotfl:
Funny to be knitting in this heat, although it is cooler today. We'll be eating outside this evening0 -
groatiequeen - I like the sound of your version! It is just normal sausages I am not a huge fan of, and I love butternit squash. Thinking about it we have chorizo and butternut that I coud, experiment with later in the week. Slowly but surely converting to lentils in this house.
Dorastar, fully understand your frustration but I 'send the text either. No point really.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Groatie i love the 'Re-Wired' idea!
Day two of slimming world here - I've eaten much more today (didn't eat all that the menu told me to yesterday and ended up hungry last night - didn't cave tho!)
I actually caught the final of an old 'Australias Biggest Loser' last night (perfect timing for a good dose on inspirational before and afters!) and something the guy who won it said really struck a chord - he said 'the time to 'try' is over. It's time to Do!' and it made me think of all the times I've said i'm going to 'try' and lose weight and maybe or a little while did....only to stop 'trying'. So this time - I'm Doing! I've actually set daily reminders in my phone or morning afternoon and evening with short motivational messages just to keep me focused.
Had a 'detox' headache this morning which seems to have lifted and I've enjoyed the food i've eaten today!

JC -what a great idea, motivational messages, I should try that.
MG - what can I say? I used to be the woman you are today. Lost some of me somewhere. NOT that I am a qualified engineer/plumber/builder/writer/counsellor/electrician/motivator/etc
that all you ladies on this thread are, but just I used to be someone who could do, now I just seem to want to wallow somewhere...0 -
Well he came home without the text ever being sent and has nodded off on the sofa (he is on very strong anti-b's and multiple pain killers so is shattered) and before he nodded off he said thanks for the lovely tea and I was right to drag him home as he still feels lousy. The swelling in his finger has gone down a bit but is still 'well manky'.
Going to do clothes and lunches, tidy kitchen, sort plans for the week then have a me-time soak in the bath.Mortgage £128,626 going down slowly0 -

You aren't colour-blind are you?
Me & Tora have just finished watching "My Dog Skip". Told DH I didn't want to watch it as I would blubb. But I did. And I did......
I'm a wuss - but keep panicking over losing Clootie. No reason but just had too much death recently.
Off to watch a happy film now......
This will give you a giggle - DS2 (the ginger toddler) dancing along to Grease .................. funny and strangely worrying.

I am sure that the other one is still there; you just need to look for her and call her.

Aesop, I can identify with the feeling of "I'm not who I used to be".... the passage of time, and physical limitations have erased the naive and dangerous optimism I used to employ, i.e. the "bull in a china shop" approach to getting on with life. Feeling as if I could leap over tall buildings before breakfast then keep going all day like the Duracell bunny.... and never say no to a challenge.... that all belonged to my youth! Then my health crashed....
Now replaced with Matrix pacing and realistic optimism, e.g. "I can do this for 15 minutes". And a rest. And another 15 minutes. And a rest. etc. For as long as needed. If it's 5 minutes, not 15, it's still 5 minutes to the good. Accepting and blessing my limitations, not cursing them. And I'm still me, only better with age, on the inside at least :rotfl::rotfl:
And we all need duvet days... and time just to sift and sort and nerdle. Don't be worried about feeling unsettled or discontented with what is or isn't happening - it's just a sign that change is needed, a spur for better things to come. If we were always happy with our lot, we would never change anything!
Sarah ban Breathnach I think spoke about Divine Discontent - the promptings that allow us to do the sifting and sorting that leads to change. And change has to be incubated before it happens. Like bulbs underground waiting for Spring, ie the optimum conditions.
Sorry I'm rambling! I'm off for another 15 minute stint! :rotfl::rotfl:If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Evening all!
Had a music lesson and did some work experience that seemed to go down VERY well this afternoon: the person who seemed so happy is likely to seriously recommend me, and has quite a lot of clout in her circles, so I would be delighted to get the work as I need it.
What else? Not much. Have some work to do before I go to bed and am currently waiting for an auction to end of Ebay for something good for my back to sit on, so cross fingers for me as there's no way I can afford to pay full-price for this thing!
Hmm..saw bank balance yesterday. Need more work. Sharpish.0
