  • Olive Oyl, that's fantastic news. Well done on getting this far, and coping with all the obstacles and delays. I hope the kids love their kit.

Been away overnight, helped a friend fillet her wardrobe. (She's sold up but has yet to buy, so the less that goes into storage the better).

Great fun, and at times hilarious (e.g. 70's and 80's gear which was so bad it will NEVER come round again - mercifully). 8 bags to the local CS and they even took the hangers. We celebrated with a fab meal out, a rare treat for both of us, so sheer enjoyment after the achievement.

It's inspired me to get back into my eaves. When the offer does come in for my house, I'll be on a countdown, so time to get ahead again with downsizing belongings. Today I'm taking my daughter's word for it that she only wants her old photographs kept from the two large crates I have of her stuff. The tat will get dumped and anything else CS'd. If I'm still feeling energetic after that lot, I'll keep going. There's plenty to do!

My reward will be this week's Woman's Own (winks at MG) and a free cuppa at the local Dobbies (used £4 Tesco vouchers to buy garden club membership - two free cuppas per month in their cafe for a year).

So, with a plan and a carrot, I'm off!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

    Fabulous news OO!!

I am in a bit of a catch 22. My solicitor is saying that for court to take my application to move DD out of the jurisdiction of this country I would already need to have a job an accommodation in the new country. Well how am I going to do that if I don't know that I can go and when I can go? Answers on the post card please :(

So happy for you - what a journey you have been on, enjoy every minute of today.

Found a neat little linkie for FW and anyone elso who's interested of course. Have a go at it, it's an eye-opening exercise - we come in at 11% ie earning more than 10% of the UK population, if I take off our housing costs we drop down to 2%. Could explain why my trainers have holes in them :rotfl:.

    Hi all

Just a quickie from me today - I have been offered a lifeline - the opportunity to be involved in something exciting as it makes the cross over from the gaming industry to the corporate world, I would be mad not to be in at the start:cool:

Anyway must go and get lunch - I do not want wotsits for lunch again today as I want to get Woman's Own.

Thanks for that :o we roll off the right hand side as we're in the top 2% but as they took only gross salary and council tax into consideration, not the mortgage/university children/excessive quantities of air flights I only feel rich, not mega rich :rotfl:

Just returned :D:D:D:D:D you'll get your pictures if I can manage the thingy on the camera etc. However I only saw the pre-schoolers (lots of hugs and thumbs up) and they've decided that:
    1) Shirts will be distributed to the orphans at the Christmas gathering on the 12th December :D
    2) Entire team sets will be donated to teams as they are told about them :D
    3) Another NGO with similar work will get any excess :D

Last November I stood with others in a cold dark (and I mean dark, they never got around to replacing the blown bulb and so we worked by the light from the hall :rotfl:) warehouse packing these shirts into boxes. Today, one year later it was SO hot (30 degrees) I just watched as the staff unpacked and sorted :D The bags were ALL opened and pilfered from, the contents are dusty so there is a great laundry push going on :p

They send a great big THANK-YOU, they said there would only have been the government food parcels for them this Christmas without this donation You so rock
