Note to Matrix - Piranha pine is the Rolls Royce of Timber - think aged mahagony v MDF and you get the idea.

"Husband" arrived and proceeded to tell me I'd never sell the house in the future as the stairs weren't to recent code - erm!! Nope, building was built in 1840 so probably not to 2011 code:rotfl:

Thing is surveyor passed it when I bought house 3 years ago - and I figure that anyone who falls in love with the house won't be put off because the stairs are 10cm too narrow ................. but apart from that all is good. So charging my screwdriver as I speak.:D Who says only boys can have toys???

BTW I have some background of my house forwarded to me today - but will post over on the Matrix (otherwise everyone will know where I live) I am so fascinated now and want to know all about the history.

    Don't the boys look handsome?

BTW DS1 has just noticed that this building was erected the same year as Bonnie Prince Charlie landed in Scotland ( which will mean nothing to the English lassies reading this but is a significant part of our history here)

I think I am turning in to a history geek!!

Must remember to go to the newsagent tomorrow :)

Microwave is dead (making a scary noise when you turn it on... It was only a cheap one from a DIY place about 5 years ago). Any suggestions for a replacement?

Yay!!!! I'm in good company. Turns out that the original church was an Anti-Burghar Church ..................... so even back then I would have been in rebellious company.:D

Big construction plans for the day - so don't let me wimp out.
