If it's just you and your mum at home she should get 25% discount because she's the only person eligible to pay it.... might be worth it if that applies

  • How do I make myself sound fantastic in a CV....? I have found a job I want to apply for, but my CV is just very practical; a list of jobs and tasks completed. Any ideas? X

Could you post it on t'other side so we could take a peek? It's hard to say out of context. x

I watched the programme on the future of the welfare state on iplayer last night... They should have interviewed you and Horace and MG...

OOhh I saw that - OMG!!! Humphry's is still a bitof a guilty pleasure - but HellYes!!! we could show them.

Just had the magazine on the phone -the article - well its a bit ordinary but then I guess they don't want to make us look like complete loons. Managed to get them to include MSE and Approved Foods - so YAY!!!

I shall take the rest of my manic moneysaving idea over onto MFi3 instead.

Horace - do you not have a Remoska? Or did I imagine that, because you can cook a pretty decent loaf in a Mosky?

PS Been upstairs playing with power tools (NOT neck massagers) and I have now cracked how to make perfect joints - so we are furniture making a go-go here.

I watched it as well - it made me very angry! The changes being put forward go against all my ideological convictions. Also, convinced me that the way to deal with this is by becoming really welthy and taking the place of the State - it is withdrawing anyway...

This sounds wrong or intriguing - depending on how one feels at the moment:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

  • Hello Matrix! Managed to log on and read back. Hello to all the Newbies!!

Not a great deal to report chez Rickett, except that my application for the Oxford job is ready to go but I am waiting for a friend to check it over to see what she thinks of it. I respect her opinion and I know she will tell me if I sound like some kind of Dalek has written the letter or whether it will fly! :) So, stay tuned folks!! :D I found myself trying to talk myself out of applying this morning, but I have stomped on the negative talk and told myself that I have nothing to lose.

Lots of positive vibes to you all. Back to the grindstone for me! :D

  • Hi

I have lurked on here for a while just reading the posts, but I thought I would step out from the shadows.

The post about the job centre rang very true with me dd has been signing on since august when she moved in with bf, and it has been a nightmare, one error after another from them, so we can wholly identify with this. Applying on line is the way to go as they will start the claim from then.

With the cv thing. I found it helpful to write a few cv's to apply for different types of job. I was taught to write the application to fit the requirements of the job; and I don't mean lie:o. Just think about the skills you have relevant to the post and expand on those.

And about these "power tool" photos??:rotfl:
My finances are work in progress.
    Normal veiwing will resume shortly
