Lovely day catching up with friends today and all for the price of some ice creams which the man made up a price of £3.20 for three cos the two little kids looked cute - he thought they were twins, they were born the same day but only one is mine lol.
House still messy but everyone happy and have rationalised what I actually MUST do before tomorrow and it is isn't as bad as I first thought. Have got parents evenings this week so going to use time when I have to stay late to get things done, and am going to get in earlier for the same reason - we are now two senior staff down long term sick and with Ofsted ever looming I will have to pick up some of their work so will have to balance things even more carefully.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Hi all, I have survived DS's room, and have yet more donations for the charity shop, plus a couple of Ebayable bits. I swear this house breeds stuff
OK, boys are ensconced with the original Thief of Baghdad (circa 1940 odd?) so I'm going to look at some charity finances I have responsibility for. End of year approaching so want them shipshape!

It was my choice to have my pets - therefore I need to do whatever it takes to keep them and keep them well. Same with kids I suppose:D
I would do without a lot before either went without - but as I don't smoke, hardly drink and squeeze a pound coin until the gold rubs off it should be a long long time before things are that tight that it is a decision I need to make.
Mind you - one of the other single Mums at playgroup has got two huge dogs, smokes like a chimney and is hung over till Wednesdays - now Her Budgeting secret I would like to know :rotfl:

Maybe her ex pays her vast amounts of maintenance MG?
How has your building work gone? I've done the windowsill (it was painted a while back, but not underneath for some reason, and after the work that's just been done I couldn't get it clean so gave up and repainted it... Much quicker), painted white along the corner between the walls and ceilings to overlap and make sure the plaster is completely covered, and then given the walls a second coat. I'd forgot how bad the coverage is with the light base
I need to wash my brushes and then go round with a tiny brush to touch up the edges at the top and a couple of corners - first with the blue, then white emulsion and then satinwood if there is anything that needs it. So I'm a bit behind on moving stuff, but I'm glad it's done. I didn't have any caulk, and really need some where the skirting is coming away from the wall, but reminded myself that new floors and skirting are in next year's plan!
The washing machine seems to be OK now, so one load of towels is in the dryer. I'm going to keeo going with the washing, empty the DW and get supper while I wait for the paint to dry.0 -

Ha ha - trust me, if you really did have children the idea of getting rid of them wouldn't surprise you at all :rotfl:

If it was a choice between children and pets, then I guess the pets would go... but I would fight long and hard for them to stay with us as long as possible. My furry babies are very close to my heart. (Although right now they don't like me at all, because I made them wait for dinner until it was 6pm, but their stomachs thought it was 7! I am destined to be ignored this evening!)
Pumpkin carved, leek, potato and pumpkin soup made (hubby is currently swearing that its hot and he can't get it in the thermos flask!!) and first draft of job application done. Going to have another look at it later to see if I can improve it anywhere. After tea, I am going to knit up a storm whilst watching telly. I love Sundays for that!

Not unless he has got the best paid job in Perth Prison
I have had an "afternoon of discovery" - and think that my smallest bedroom refurb will cost about a tenner - with the bigger one about £20.
That's not to shabby to make two rooms ready for letting (of course that is still dependant on getting DS2 moved upstairs) Lots of make do and mending will be part of this plan.
So I am on woodworking duties when DS2 is at playgroup tomorrow.
Now how do you get your jeans to hang down just far enough so that your bum cleavage is winking at passer-byes?????
