Marru hon - I've got loads of random knitting pins - what size do you need. I fund a set of bamboo ones in a Charity shop last year for £3 (for all the sizes) so if you can wait a few days?....................
I am itching to put photos on the blog - but DS1 has gone off with the camera. (MG Chomping at the bit) - Ah well, heads down to finish.

Thanks MG, but I want to take them to the plane today with me. Got some lovely scarf wool from a friend yesterday for couple of quid and can't wait to get started.
If you find another bamboo set from CS please please get it and I'll buy it from you."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Marru - have a lovely time and when you get back we need to arrange to meet up... Hopefully by then some of the work on the house will have been finished and I'll be able to get to the bags of stuff I have put aside... And may have managed a further sort out
Missing sofa covers located at the bottom of my bedroom blanket chest under all the curtains I want to put back up soon! As it is made of camphor wood they smell delicious. Kindling basket and log basket filled, and huge expensive order placed with summer naturals for white vinegar, Epsom salts and a few other bits and pieces.
Suppose I should put the covers on the sofa, finish tidying the sitting room and then have lunch before having a go at the kitchen (which is far too full as most of the contents of the utility room that couldn't go in the shed are in there...). And think vaguely about dropping some stuff off at the dry cleaner this afternoon... Despite the weather I CBA to do anything in the garden0 -
Good Afternoon
Got a busy few days in front of us here, DH is off 2 weeks from work, so he wants to finish the passage he started decorating on his last two weeks off, and start decorating bedroomsand getting it de cluttered here.
Yesterday he cleaned ds2 mattress with a carpet cleaner, has come up lovelyso that has saved us ££ on a new mattress.

I don't think you'll get bumped off - and if you are there'll be uproar! Congratulations on your debt free status and the £200 - the rest is on its way... Also, I was sorry about boy cat.Just done my first ever Approved foods order - not sure how long it will take me to get through 48 cereal bars (amongst other things) but is worth a try!
I've bought a bargainous 25kg bag (sack) of red lentils!! It'll take a while for little ol' me to work through it but I've plenty of recipes and space in the freezer.I also bought a 2.6kg tin of broad beans - can I drain them and freeze in portion sizes or would it be better to make risotto and pate etc before freezing?
Been awol for a few days due to struggling with life generally and the sudden death of a friend. One good thing is that I have managed to drive solo over to mum's so I seem to be gaining confidence and a little more independence.
I took Cheery's advice (thank you!) and spoke to someone about something I'd agreed to do and have now unagreed it which has removed some worry.
Now my focus is on continuing to catch up. OH has kindly cleared out my shed and ordered logs which will arrive this afternoon so after two winters of being freezing cold I will be able to keep one room warm. I'm enjoying the sun at the moment as it shines through the big windows at the front of my bungalow and warms my living room and study so no need for any heating yet.
Right, back to clearing some more paper off my desk.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
Must be something in the air re sofas greenbee - my sofa throws are in the washing machine, and the seat and back have had a good vacuum and then the rubber glove treatment for the cat hairs! I finished inserting the IKEA throws into my curtains which were already lined - but this has made a noticeable difference and the house is warmer without the heating on.
After lunch I'll be re-loading the chest of drawers I assembled last Sunday - ran out of time and energy to tackle it then, but as I worked on Friday I have a day off work tomorrow and so it all feels manageable: what I don't finish today will get done tomorrow.
I also want to spend time having a look at the household budget and seeing where I can adjust for inflation on a static income. In fact it's not static, it has gone down quite a bit as I no longer have lodger income coming in. I think it's unlikely (though anything is possible) that the house will sell this side of Christmas. It's a family house and most people would rather not be putting things in boxes and relocating just then! Thing is, thanks to MSE and living simply, life feels rich anyway. I may be downsizing house and way of life but happy to be doing so!
I'm seriously thinking of ditching the TV as I hardly ever watch it. Has anyone done this and it is quite straightforward to cancel the TV licence in such a way as not to get hassled in future by the TV Licencing collection company? If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Groatie - I have no TV, haven't had one since I moved in. To begin with they hassle you, but I was never in when anyone came to check. I'm not sure they did! Now I just get a declaration to fill in every year or so stating that I still don't have one.
Meal planning for this new diet is doing my head in. I just can't work out how to fit that much food in. I guess if I do, I won't have room for any extras! Actually, I might ask for some help over the other side as I've just had an idea...0 -
Marru - have a great time - & if you've not left yet - I don't think you're allowed to take knitting needles on a plane as hand luggage.....Debts 07/12/2021

Something must be in the air, me and OH are starting a new diet tomorrow - going to be quite a challenge I think but with just the two of us here, we can totally de-junk the kitchen and then there's no temptation (except the Mr T's across the road!!)No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Glad everybody is feeling very positive.
Not got far as I decided to take DS1 to OOH GP and she thinks he has Glandular Fever too so need to get some bloods done tomorrow.
Going to do an hour in the back garden now and then some baking and soup making. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
