  • Life is going to be rather too fast, furious and complicated here and I think I need vibes to keep the juggling act going.

I work, I do things on Sundays, am project managing a building rewire, fundraising, PTA and have just started to look at timelines for the lot and they are all rather overlapping - eek! And have home, DH & DS to fit around.

So, what to do first? I need somehow to date prioritise the lot, but have lists for each so nothing gets missed. I have managed to delegate a few things, but that needs handovers and/or instructions...and Christmas is looming.....hmm maybe this is a bit much even for my chaotic life.

Hmm, maybe paper lists first per area, then try and put them on a spreadsheet. Unless anyone can suggest?

One decision made - tonight's meeting I am only going to for the one item that concerns me, then I'm away home. And Christmas shopping/presents etc will be completed by mid November latest.

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Parents evening done - little man a quiet, studious perfectionist and bigger girl a similarly quiet, studious perfectionist - so yes they must be adopted:rotfl:Although dd's teacher did say she doesn't take advice well and does her own thing in her writing and I can just imagine dd looking down her nose at the teacher and thinking 'I'm destined to be ruler of the world, what would you know about my writing?!'

  • Hi everyone

I've been lurking here for a few weeks. What a great positive bunch you are. I've been energised by your enthusiasm and want to join in!

So I've been looking at past threads, (not reading them all, there's 1000s and 1000s of posts), have I got them all?

Think I might need advice about speed reading so that I can keep up on these boards!!!! Been reading Make do and mend thread at same time as reading here - keep forgetting whether I'm in past or present LOL - raisin bread was a great hit in this house and with next door neighbour when I took her a couple of slices to try.

Thanks for keeping me motivated everyone

Very inspiring lezzle! Had a lovely day today. A good combination of sofa time and productivity! Knew I was having a house day so invited a friend over tonight so I had some company at some point in the day. Great plan and meeting an MSE'er and an old colleague tomorrow. Quite enjoying structuring each day differently, for now!

I'm a bit busy at the moment but I still have my beady eye on you all.

Welcome to Milann, Mizmir and Lezzle - and anyone else who is new. Reading the old threads is very inspiring and certainly hooked me.

MG Hope Big Boy Cat is OK.

Mum on a mission - Breathe! It sounds as if you will have to prioritise - is this chaos for a short period? If so, you'll cope but, if it is a permanent state of affairs, I suggest a rethink. Either way lean on the positive vibes coming your way.

    Everyone else
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?
  • Morning all. Chilly again so lots of layers - I look like Steptoe but am warm so thats ok.

Got to make a lot of birthday cards this morning for November birthdays so will enjoy that. Ironing this afternoon, not so much fun.

    Welcome aboard all the newbies.

MOAM, at work all the project managers used to use Gant charts to bring everything together, which can be done in Excel and might help?

I found some information online by doing a search for Gant chart. - not sure if I can put links here but it was easy to find.

But the important thing is to prioritise stuff so that you look after yourself as a priority, as nothing you are aiming to do will get done if you make yourself ill.

OMG - we REALLY can chat can't we :rotfl:

That is loads and loads - especially as we keep being reminded to start a new one when we reach 5000 posts :o

Big boy cat still a bit poorly - still not keeping water down but Vet wants him at home for TLC - thinks he has been locked in somewhere and has gotten a bit dehydrated and so his insides are taking a while to settle down.

DS2 seems brighter after an early night and a dose of calpol - although still a bit warm so maybe is coming down with something.

Next thing to sort out is the overlocker - it had better just behave itself as I am a woman on a sofa mission. Can you keep your eyes open for cones of overlocking thread in the your local CS? They are so expensive so you never know we may strike gold.

In the meantime - getting everyone organised to pop out to Post Office and collect my parcel. I am so excited this morning its like Christmas - no really, this is a gift chosen for me by someone who knows / cares more about me than most people in my Mummy Lofe ................ its not my birthday or significant date .............. its a gift just sent because.

Well whatever it is, that makes it perfect in my mind:D

Do you think it might be Gabriel Byrne???:rotfl::rotfl:

Why do you need to use the overlocker, MG? Won't most of the seams be enclosed? And if you are using piping presumably you couldn't use an overlocker for those seams. If you use a sewing machine you can get largeish reels of polyester thread fairly cheaply. Actually I find I can use those with my overlocker, it doesn't have to be cones and there is a market stall where I can get 4 for £5 - would this squeak inside your £10 budget?

But I would think your best bet would be to look on Freecycle for someone having a clearout of sewing stuff etc. As the seams won't be seen it wouldn't matter if the threads are different colours as long as they are all ice cream colours - in fact, it would look meant if you had one blue, one pink, one cream, one green thread!!
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
