Hi all, back at mum's for more revision, roll on Weds AM (and positive vibes please!) when I can get it over and done with.
I have started a savings pot for our mortgage, I'm rounding down to the nearest £10 by putting the extra in a savings pot. Then paying it off yearly, as we can pay up to 10% extra. Only one payment has gone and I'm already chipping awayNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Ooof have no choice about whether to put the heating on or not here, as OH took off the radiator to paint in May and hadn't painted it until yesterday!!
I also thought Mr Singh was amazing!
Hi and hugs to all, especially those with the lurgy developing:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Hi folks - off for a weeks holiday & today DH has the cold come on - luckily I still had pills from last year so that's what he's on.....
And we've "tested" our heating. With having the wood burner then the heating should only need to be on half an hour in the morning & about an hour at night (for between getting in & the fire catching). Just as well we tested - 1 radiator wasn't working but thanks to t'internet & hubby with a hammer we now have all radiators working - and because the bedroom radiator is now working the carpet underneath it won't take long to dry out
He does try - bless him.....

Gotta lurve the internet - taught myself how to clean thermostatic valves and bleed radiators, saving a Plumber call out.
Mindees gone home - with their home baking spoils:rotfl: Funny how a 14 year old can come in this morning as a "whatever!!!" and when Dad arrves to get him complain that "we haven't finished playing with the playdoh Dad!!!!!". Yup!!! 14 going on 4 - lovely to see he can still "play" when there are no "big kids" around.
Job of the night - snuggle up and teach myself how to do a knitted lace pattern for a scarf for Mum's Christmas pressie.
Oh I know how to live :rotfl::rotfl:

That was something DH was supposed to get around to this summer, paint our bedroom rad, oh well it may be done in the spring now.
Almost got all the paint off of the window handles so once that is finished I can sit and polish them whilst watching tv later. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Had a great day today. Got an interview for another job, ebay money coming to me, signed on and money due this week and got mash for 3 portions from 80p worth of whoopsied tatties and 4 portions of liver for £1. Away to freeze the rest.
Tomorrow I need to go to the PO then it's a day in the hoose I think. Surveys to do, menu planning and a wee Lovefilm Dvd for the afternoon.
Meeting gilligansyle on Wednesday and a mate on Thursday so all good.
X'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Morning all - totals in the house are me, 2 kids, 2 cats - so all is good.
Busy day today finishing off bits and pieces - I am a devil for knitting something up and then leaving it hanging around to sew up for ages - and of course the next step on the sofa makeovers.
Thought I wasn't going to spend this week - but I need a cucumber for tonights tea - so 59p it may be:D
MSE wise - got some leeks from a friends lottie so potato and leek soup is in the offing and I want to fill the freezer up with DS1's "hot lunches" so will be making, tomato sauce for pasta, potato and chick pea curry and three bean chilli in little lunch sized portions.
The other two days he wants hummus and pitta and then wraps - so I will need to make a freeze some dough to get a jump on the term there too.
................. and a bake or two for snacks, probably oat and apple muffins and a cake bar of some kind.
And the good news??? ......................... I have everything in stock,so apart from a piece of fruit of veggie dippers his lunches until 23rd December are sorted:j:j
OMG!!!!! Just looked at the calendar - 10 weeks till the big Cbetter get crafting.
Its only 9 degrees next to the window - but a balmy 13 inside so the prep for winter will def have to step up a gear in the livingroom. I am thinking of a much heavier blind for the window for a start - cos its darn nippy sitting here typing I can tell you:D
Off to make coffee my lovelies

Morning all. Chilly here but trying to refrain from putting the heating on, though DH did put put on for half an hour last night to test it. Its a new boiler from necessity this summer, and it certainly felt warmer than I rememember from last years efforts from the old one.
MG Can you freeze dough? Not a long time bread baker, though have been making much miore recently but I thought that it might kill the yeast? DS loves your hm pittas but there is always way too much dough for one bake, never imagined I could freeze it though.
Sorry about all the lurgie around, hugs to those that need it.
Now where are those vitamin c tablets?0 -
Oat and apple muffins eh - how do they work then
I made flapjack at the weekendNow I can't really cook, but they taste nice, and even I think they're easy...
200g of Butter, Sugar and either honey or golden syrup...
Heat in a BIG saucepan until butter melted.
Add 400g of porrige oats and some... well anything, raisins, cherries, ginger, whatever you fancy.
Bake in oven at GM 6 for 15 minutes or so (I cooked mine at the same time as a pizza, so I can't tell you how long it was in for!)
Wait til cool... cut into pieces.
Try not to eat all in one day
