Thanks for the ebay tips ladies - only 3 of my 9 items sold..I made £84.64:j Tomorrow I will be busy at the post office, must get some brown paper but need to visit the bank to get money out first to cover the cost of postage (I am not printing labels out via Paypal or Fleabay). If I check my Co-op bank too, I will be able to re-verify that account with paypal and shove the money earnt today into that which will go some way in reducing that overdraft. If I can clear that overdraft I can then work again to earn the money to clear the rest of my debts. This may seem mad to you but it is something that needs to be done.
I forgot to add the chain length to the pendant when I posted the ad to be honest the thought never crossed my mind..sigh. Still the lady still wants it and she doesnt live that far from me really so I could deliver it in person but I promised special delivery and that is what she shall have because it is for her wedding next month.
Had a grated cheese sandwich for lunch with branston pickle.
Planning my meals for next week now and I need bread so hopefully an out of date shelf somewhere will have some cheap bread. Might venture to Droitwich to Waitrose where I can get decent meat (I hate Tesco meat as it is always stringy).
Will need:
bread
brisket
onions
spuds
carrots (although I have tinned)
another ltr of longlife milk
yeast (if I can blag some) - fancy making an Amish friendship loaf.
Bacon and cheese would be good too.
How long does risotto rice last for? I have a box in the store cupboard that is out of date as it has been in there yonks - unused and I don't want to waste it. Naughty Horace was good at buying stuff and then not using it:(0 -

It has never been opened and it is in a dry cupboard..might just use risotto rice for pudding rice which will save me buying some:cool:0 -

Very long time - the only thing is to check whether there are living creatures in. If not it is good. If yes, it is good but the creatures have to be eliminated.

A fresh bay leaf keeps the creatures away - doesn't need to go in with it just beside the container. Don't know why but it does work !2015 £2 Saver #82

Thanks for the fab storage idea Greenbee. OH is a welder/metalworker, so if he can get the metal for a good price, he can rustle up a bunker himself. Lovely of you to offer some wood Horace, thank you very much, but we are ok as OH is collecting some pallets and offcuts tomorrow from a guy he used to work with, so we're doing alright.
Have had some fab financial news as I have recently had a tax refund (£400) and yesterday checked my online banking and have received a study grant of £265 from the Open University. Yippeeeee! We will be able to get a few winter clothes, replacement halogen tubes for the heater, some printer ink and any other stationery I need for the course and the rest will be saved towards coal and any other important expenses. This winter won't be so bad after all!
Today has been fairly productive. I have finally got around to opening a new ISA account with better interest rates and will send the transfer form off tomorrow, this has been on my to do list for several months! I've completed 35 minutes of exercise, opted for the exercise bike today. Have also done my physio stretches as I want to build up to jogging again, need to do these three times a week or the old injury starts getting tight (I know this because I was lazy and stopped doing the stretches for a while!)
Off on holiday to Devon next weekend with my grandparents. So I am going to be soooo excited all of this week as I love the seaside and haven't been on a proper holiday for a couple of years. OH is staying at home (he was invited, but didn't want to go), so will have to write him a list of 'house things to remember' or all the plants will be dead and he won't have had any hot water because he didn't turn on the switch!0 -
Sounds as if there have been lots of busy and productive weekends happening - but not in this house - had a lovely weekend with family, spending time together and going out for a celebratory meal - not MSE at all - but it was to celebrate a couple of special occasons and worth every penny - food from freezer to make up for such frivolities now though.January spends - £587.580

Morning Ladies
Rainy morning - PAH!!! First day of the holiday and we wanted to go on a bike ride - maybe later.
Started DS2's new jersey - in an "uneven rib" - that's uneven because its supposed to be BTW:D But it uses up some browns and caramels that don't suit anyone else in the family (will go lovely with a pair of brown cords I made him for a quid)
Thought I had nothing MSE to report - but my usual debt payment went out today - so WooooHoooo another £70 gone:j:j Its getting sooooo close now isn't it - then we can start really focussing on the mortgage.
