OK guilty secret time - I watched "Star Trek" last night - and really enjoyed it. Think I am wierd though as I found the young Spock strangely attractive.:o
Did however knock out two fingerless mitts matching the keyhole scarf so that is another Christmas pressie done an dusted. didn't start the wee ones jumper - but there is a long winter ahead for functional knitting and sometimes a few little things completed keeps up the motivation.
So on that note I am off to "round down" my bank account with any random pennies and transfer over to the "Big Horse Debt" - maybe even do a PAD to help it along for a while.
Dora hon - woke up this morning and thought - send DD over here fro some research - loads of cool things to do upcycling clothes. If she gets stuck we can always help out. This is a fave site based on a TV prog in the States by the son of a "old" boyfriend - in that it was a long time ago and he was older than me :rotfl:

If this doesn't get her excited about making her own stuff I will "remake my hat" :rotfl:

TDQ - enjoy this one then save your pennies and splash out on a whopping £1.60 for a box of hair colour from Wilko's, it's fabulous, covers all my greys and lasts nearly as long as a professional dye job, and at least as long as a more expensive box. I've been so lucky to find a box that's basically my natural (sans grey) colour and every time I slap the stuff on, I think of how I used to spend up to £150 a time getting my hair cut and coloured.....!
Nowadays, I'm having a £15 wet cut when I feel like an old English sheepdog and a £1.60 box of dye every 6 weeks. Glam eh?!?
Thanks Kittikins - will check that out. (though I did book next appointment:o - it is just before my birthday and will be my "You are worth it" pressie to myself for xmas and birthday. Would not feel comfortable going to regular place just for cut so may have to look for somewhere else before new year.
Luckily it costs me no where near £150 :eek:0 -
Well - a fairly decent £7 which takes me to £950 - with about 5 weeks to go till my 2 year anniversary of acquiring the debt.
Better get a wiggle on

Good morning peeps.
I was up late last night watching Pale Rider - I just love that film and it was the second western I watched yesterday (yeah, that is my guilty secret I cannot get enough of cowboys & indians).:rotfl: Cooked myself a fabby dinner too last night - 2 pieces of belly draft, some old sprouts that I found in the freezer (they must have been in there for 3 years:eek:), the remainder of my small tin of spuds, gravy and cranberry sauce (because I fancied it), followed by the last frozen rice pud with strawberry jelly (note to self..hot rice pudding and cold jelly do not mix as you end up with hot rice pudding and sauce).
@Callisto - I have some bits of wood that I acquired they are just taking up room in my shed, you are welcome to have them for your fire (as you are in Worcestershire and thus not that far from me).
I have a fleabay question - I have two items that have ended - one payment has been made yet the buyer is querying the length of chain as she is a large lady and a 16 inch chain will choke her:eek: I can see that having to be a refund because it has a 16 inch chain. The other item is showing me as having to send payment details and invoicing said person - bear in mind that I only take paypal..will this person just pay via paypal or will I have to send an invoice? You can see I am not used to this fleabaying malarky *rolls eyes*. Dare not say that I have earnt £60.57 so far today until people have made decisions and this payment detail thing has been cleared up. Any advice would be appreciated.
I must sort out my old tomato plants as they have gone all brown - they still have fruit on them (must admit they are the worst tomatoes I have ever grown). Also need to do some washing up.0 -
MG, I just ordered beewax and co!!!! oil - some lip balm will be made.

MG you have done so well clearing such a large sum of debt in so short a time on a small income :j. I'm looking forward to the final £950 disappearing - won't be long now. I think we all need to book our rail tickets ready for the final pound coin pay off!
I was away for a week and it has taken me another week to catch up with you all. Also had some realisations in the past few days about my life being stuck in a constant circle so I will be spending some time today working out how to bash my way out of it.
Part of the problem is that I take on things that I am asked to do knowing deep down that I am not strong enough to do them but because not doing them means letting other people down, I put them before things which are important to me. So I am nowhere nearer to where I want to be than I was 2 years ago.
I have also had to face the reality that my health is unlikely to improve any further (although I shall never stop trying or asking the universe for help). So all future plans need to be based on current reality.
In between my ponderings I shall also have a catch up on the other side.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -

I think you will have to learn to say no - people will soon get used to the word no if they hear it often enough and you then won't end up being a door mat. Your stuff is more important than theirs so do your stuff first.
I have started saying no and sticking up for myself a bit more. Much to the annoyance of some because I am now not doing what is expected of me..if I keep doing what people want then I suffer and my business suffers. I was recently picked upon by someone who had given me what I mistakenly thought was good advice now I am overdrawn and my business is down the toilet (it is resting at the bottom of the pan until I can get it back on its feet and pay off the overdraft).0 -
Good Morning
Had a lovely lie in this morning, but my leg is still giving me jip, I think I may have to have a reality check and realise that I am never going to be able to work more than 15 hours, did 7 last week and then took ds2 fracture clinic the next day and it has taken me 2 days to get over it and I am still not right
DH cleaned the kitchen and washed pots and pans, WM on, clothes on rads to dry as it is raining here.
Turkey leg I bought last week is in oven, (its huge!!) still got veg etc left so we are going to have a turkey dinner. Hopefully there will be enough to do turkey and mayonaise sandwich filler for packed lunches.
Did the farmers market yesterday didn't sell 1 piece of jewellerybut I did sell one of my scarves
The cake lady was trying to get rid of cakes at the end of the day so we bought 2 chocolate cakes and a cherry cake for £1 each, (all have been cut into slices and individually wrapped and frozen ready for lunches, plus she gave us a free apple pie cause the corner had broken so she couldn't sell it. So apple pie and custard for desert
The vegetarian lady gave me 2 pies she had cut in half to show customers the middle (small individual size) boys had them as a snack, and we bought a corned beef pie which we had with chips and gravy yesterday and a steak and guiness pie from another stall, also bought a spare rib rack for £2.20 which is marinating with sweet chilli sauce at the moment, plus I'm going to try and make sweet chilli noodles. Plus we bought hand made red and brown sauce, the sweet chilli sauce, pickled eggs, pickled onions, raspberry and mustard dressing.
Need to get bread for sandwiches today and look at what we have in the freezer for meal planning this weeks meals.Boiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
Shed clearance has gone well... Some stuff to chuck, some to clean up. One massive spider tackled ... Lots of dirt swept out. I now have to work out how to get the 6' garden table from the patio to the shed on my own, as it needs to go in before anything else goes back.
Oh... And a load of washing is on too. I'm hopeful that a tidy shed will give me room to store a few things while the internal works are ongoing over the next month...0 -

The lady who has bought the chain - It would be up to you if you want to refund, she bid and paid for it, so she should have read the details first, and if you put in the ad it was a 16" chain then you have done nothing wrong. Has she said she doesn't want it?
For the second item, just click on "send invoice". A lot of people just pay without waiting for an invoice to be sent, but some will wait. The buyer will probably pay via Paypal.
Hope this helpsSealed pot Challenge 2011 member No 1241 - Final total £154.21
