I'm fed up of having no energy
it has taken me all morning to drag myself out if bed, bring the Hoover down and make a start on cleaning the utility room (the back door that we don't use has been painted, so lots of stuff has been moved for the first time in over a year). I need to get the utility room cleared so I can do the washing and get the rest of the house habitable. I still have no idea who is coming for lunch tomorrow (my friends all have a tendency to be disorganised ... I'm not sure what that says about me...) but I'm kind of hoping it will be no one as although it might be good for me to socialise I don't really feel like it.

Greenbee, are you actually well enough to entertain? What I'm hearing in your post is a great deal of fatigue and feeling unwell and under pressure. Might it be better to re-schedule to sometime next month?
Be gentle with yourself. I know that feeling of wanting to live a normal life, but it seems to me that just now, you need to rest.

I agree with GQ Greenbee. It is good to socialise but that doesnt mean that you have to entertain. Why not say you are sorry but you overestimated how well you felt and can you change the venue to the local pub for the carvery. Then you dont need to clean before and after, never mind the cooking and keeping a smile on.

I'm bored of resting...
But I'm going to assume that no one is planning on getting here for lunchtime tomorrow and we can meet up later for the event in the afternoon. It's getting too late to get stuff out of the freezer anyway. I have cleared and cleaned and de-spidered an area approx 3' x 6' ... I need to hoover the doormats again (several time probably) as they are filthy so not doing their job properly.
Part of the problem is caused by the ongoing work (or not) in the house which means the spare room is empty and the study is so packed I can't get in there. I always feel worse when the house is in a state... But then it probably gets that way because I'm tired. I have the cleaner coming again on Thursday, so want to get everywhere tidy enough for her to be able to clean. The study was out of action when she was last here a month ago!
Need to try to eat... Breakfast was grapefruit juice and pills. Lunch so far has been beetroot and pills. It may be time to splash out on innocent veg pots for a few days, as although I have stuff in the freezer, it feels like hard work to even take it out let alone cook and eat it...0 -
Greenbee, You are making me very concerned. I know only too well how frustrating it is to feel that anything is just too much. If you don't look after yourself, you will delay your recovery. Yes, get some veg pots in and pamper yourself for a few days.
As ever, don't do as I do, do as I say. :cool:But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
I'm winning.... Using some silver backed polystyrene (no idea what project it was from...) and some double-sided tape I have draught-proofed the bottom half of the newly treated back door (the one we don't use, so now it is weather proof I can put everything back in front of it). I have also stacked up half my supply of loo roll in front of it as insulation
I might do the top half and bubble wrap the window another time. So the utility room is nearly done. If I pace myself hopefully I can finish it and slowly deal with the worst of the problems over the next few days.

Pizza chocolate and wine and a trashy DVD. Not sure I feel any better but it filled up the time. Thinking about a bath and then bed. If I can be bothered... Hopefully the rest of downstairs will be sorted tomorrow.0
