  • Brrrr, frost this morning.... are we ready for this?? (Scotland needs a shivery smiley, maybe this one will do ).

Looking forward to hearing how well it went for you, Dorastar and Crickett! And FW!

I've just done some extra work, a home visit to support a client in my home town. I LOVE my job - and I realise how lucky I am to say that. The one-to-one work is what I love to do. Reports and stats etc - a necessary evil to keep funders funding (:jpositive visualisation here in current financial climes ), but oh how my heart sings when I work face to face with my people.

Spurred on by this morning's frost, I'm about to start lining my curtains with fleecy throws.

Looking forward to seeing MG's soup recipe of the day - loving the variety and inspiration!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

  • OMG!!! Soup recipe - righto!!! LOL

Erm - something with veg tomato and some leftover bulghar wheat from last night - off to have a rummage.

Got kind of distracted this morning clearing out the old classroom to set is up as my MFi3 base, but now Groatie has mentioned food I am "starving".

Think we are doing pretty good on the "30 soup for September" challenge - day 15 and I haven't duplicated yet. They have all been pretty yummy.

    Good Afternoon

Went back to bed again this morning :)

Feeling much better now :) the symptoms seem to have stopped :) I went all night last night without waking up to go to the loo :) still feeling tired though.

It was lovely getting up to a lovely tidy house (well downstairs) this morning, when dh came in he had tea and made the beds and he emptied and filled the DW and cleaned the kitchen.

  • Good news that you're feeling a bit better Claire... keep taking the tablets until they're all gone though :)

Now, does anyone know a stew recipe that can be put in the slow cooker and left for 9-10 hours (i.e. the whole time I am away at work)? The ones in my recipe book are 6 hours?

I really fancy flaky, meaty stew. I presume I add the dumplings for a bit when I get home from work

If not, I will need to buy a timer switch to put it on at lunchtime, but if that can be avoided, then, well... you know ;)
  • Cup of tea - then I have got to hoover my new MFi3 base.

3 tables - one for writing / mind mapping
    1 for cutting and crafting
1 for sewing machine and overlocker

3 sets of wooden shelves for materials
    2 bookshelves (filled already)
3 2 drawer filing cabinets to keep me organised.

.............. and I found a letter from a Comedian / writer saying thank you for all your help from years ago. He is an American and I should really like to track him down and find out how he is (he had non-H Lymphoma at the time) - in 1992 !!!!!!!!

My only connection I have is an old address in NY and the fact that he was Robert Lindsays mate (so I'm guessing finding Roberts Agent must be the first step)

The letter actually made me cry

    "Dear MG"

Without you I would have been dog-meat. Without you I would have been a mere shadow of my former shell. Lets face it, when you're out there alone you need an ally - you were mine. I'll never forget that.

Thank you so much. Please accept this small token of my admiration. When I come back I hope I can take you out to dinner or at least buy you a drink.

    Yours Nick
    NICK ULLETT"

He gave me a pair of Tiffany Earings - which I still wear and love BTW

I wonder why this letter has turned up today of all days? Its a significant anniversary to do with my past life as a Stage Manager.

Also looked up Nicks old Address - in the West Village, which figures.
