Sending postive vibes for the maths workshop - I love it when schools actually try to help the parents be in a position to help the children at home.0

Congrats webitha - I love it when someone reaches the tipping point on a debt because it all accelerates from there on in.
GO MATHS GIRL ..... GO MATHS GIRL .......... and pah! to the Head. Mind you if I were asked to go to a math session for DS1 I might chicken out and send Mr F instead (he is more on his wavelength). I wonder how many parents won't urn up because they are still intimidated after being poop at maths in school?
I hope you are channelling your inner "Johhny Ball" this morning - just have fun hon.
BTW today's challenge is up and OM goodness - I can see them ramping up the "oops I do that" level.

Good luck with the Maths, My DS's school did something similar but with reading - we learnt the techniques they were using in school to teahc them so that we could support them. I'd love it if they did Maths too, so i am sure it will be very popular and succesful.
Off to watch the RWC - only Russia and USA so not too worried about missing this on on the school run!

Positive vibes DS. I have no confidence in my ability to do actual maths due to bad experiences at school. I manage to do my figures at work and always have but they made me feel stupid. Something like this would have been fab so go you! X'The road to a friends house is never long'0

I am also one who was made to feel like a Dunce at Maths when I was at school. My Teachers would die laughing if they knew I was an accountant and dealing with figures on a daily basis! HA!
Can I ask for vibes for tomorrow please? My portfolio results come in... and I am, to put it bluntly... BRICKING IT!!!!!

Sending you some positive vibes DS.
Like Souk I was pretty rubbish at maths at school - I took my CSE twice and still came out with a grade 3:o (I was hoping to improve my grade to a 1!). I don't have trouble with figures outside of work and manage to keep my books although if someone starts shouting numbers at me then my brain immediately turns to mush and I find myself nodding and agreeing when I really haven't a clue what they are on about.
At some point in the next 3 weeks I am being interviewed about business networking online and offline. This afternoon, I am off to a Working Party because this Charity Auction isnt going to organise itself...there is much to be done and so little time (not helped by committee members who decide they have other commitments so all of a sudden they cannot make it even though they agreed to attend:mad:). I am also applying for a little part time job with the National Trust as a caretaker of a holiday cottage (how strange is that when I hate cleaning my own flat, I will happily clean someone else's in exchange for money:rotfl:). I shall also be working on my housing benefit thing..which means (as they haven't bothered sending me the self employment form) going through my receipts and putting together some sort of accounts plus I shall send them my accounts for the period 2010/11
Hope you have a great day folks...in a truly magnificent MSE way instead of taking my car to the working party, I will walk to Rubery village (about 40 mins walk or so) and cadge a lift:rotfl:0 -

Thanks.
I was a maths moron when I was at school.
Infact, when I started doing my accounting exams, I got exemptions from the first year because of the degree I did - but struggled so much with the maths on the course that they suggested I did the maths for wanna-be accountants course that they ran.
Even that was flipping difficult, and I still can't re-arrange formula!
Good job excel can isn't it
As for your profile Crickette, you will be absolutely fine with your profile. You will ace it infact. x0
