We had beer battered spam fritters for dinner tonight, will I die? :spam:
I have never had them before but my DH assured me that they are a fine northern delicacy.

The beer was a can that has been in the kitchen since christmas, a freebie from work so used rather than wasted.

    Hello gang

I thought I had better venture in. seeing as I fell into MSE again (I should be doing some work but....). It is great to catch up with what folks have been doing too.

My day has been a bit strange - I was supposed to be running my own networking group this morning but as folks didnt confirm their attendance so I couldnt confirm numbers with the venue, I assumed that no-one was bothered so went networking somewhere else. Well, it seems that folks were bothered and turned up and I wasnt there - I had better dust off the crystal ball and recharge it:rotfl: Still, this mornings's meeting in Birmingham City Centre was productive as I made some great connections and have been asked to organise a business lunch where I can make some money:cool: What might happen is that the breakfast networking meet may just move back to Bham City Centre because people are asking which demonstrates that there is a need.

I did not get home til gone 3pm either because I was wandering about :D

    Hi Hon

Do people have to pay for venue / breakfast etc when they attend your groups.

Could you make attendance dependant on paying a nominal sum via electronic payment / paypal through a portal website so that people are committing to you early? Even a a couple of quid makes people feel like they have "invested"

Talking to a couple of mates in the Networking game they say that is part of the issue - money is paid on the day so if you get up and don't fancy it - well no skin, but a pain in the "arris" for the organiser.

So a portal that people can use form their desks rather that the cash / invoice circle could help you smooth the admin. Point, click, commit IYSWIM?

And, ahem, Matrixettes - MrB challenge today. I need to go and sort out something for him now as he has got a buzzy thing in his bonnet this morning :D

Whilst I am at it - I am sure I must be within a few pounds of a new leaf on my Mortgage Tree - fingers crossed.

  • Morning Matrix!

Woke up this morning feeling much better about life, the universe and everything. Not entirely sure why, but I am not going to question it. I think it was because I went to the nutritionist last night and she was lovely. Really, really lovely. I had been asked to write a food diary and totally wigged out for some reason and stopped filling it in. Anyway, she put my mind at rest, told me I was doing great, asked if I had weighed myself this month - oh HELL no!! :D) and then suggested I go and get weighed on one of those machines in Boots. Not ideal, but okay. I need to summon the courage to see if the weight is coming off. Gulp.

Lots of work to do today, but hopefully have a desk day so I can devote myself to it all day. Then tonight, I am making a batch of chocolate brownies for work. It is my birthday on Saturday, so I thought I would bring in some nice baking for people tomorrow. I have a half day on Friday and my boss is away as well... so Thursday is the best day! :D

Lots of positive vibes to you all.

  • Mornin' my lovelies - a bit less wild here today.

Totally fried my brains yesterday trying to find information on the web - it's like falling down the rabbit-hole in Alice in Wonderland - deeper and deeper you go with no way out . Anyway, I got there in the end.

    Today's plan is .... I know not what ....

Positive vibes to FW. Take care all, Thriftyxxx
