    Good morning,

I'm shattered, been a very restless night ds2 woke up at 4 feeling very sick, so I had to go find a bowl etc.

The day has started off pants just as I thought I was doing well with my budget :( a lovely MSE'r did a spreadsheet for me yesterday so I can keep track of my spendings, incomings, outgoings, etc, I paid some bills up to date last night which left me with £68 for food and transport back and fore hospital next week. Just Checked bank and a dd has just come out that wasn't showing on my dd list for £49 something  leaving me with £18 for food and transport and £7 in my purse:(

The day can only get better :)

I used to forget Direct Debits!

The only thing to do is to look at the DD list on your bank account.

If it doesn't have one, get 3 or 4 month's worth of bank statements and go through them... They usually have codes like DD, SO, sometimes BP next to them. You should recognise them from the description as well though.

As for the £25 you have left to spend - when is that until? I am sure people have survived on less! :)

    Positive vibes for Souk.

Fantasia, I do hope you've found some counselling-type help for dealing with Ana. You've had a lot of emotions to deal with recently so hang on in there. We're all right behind you. (Can't believe your doctor's attitude . Not helpful.)

I've been dashing about with hospital appointments, visiting friends in hospital and looking after mum who's just come out of hospital. And I've another hospital appointment next Tuesday. I once joked with the receptionist when she looked up and said "not you again! You're here more than me and I work here!" that I was going to get a camper van so I could camp out in the car park as it would save me a fortune getting to and fro.

Today I need to do loads of houseworky and paperworky stuff and remember to pace it so I don't wear myself out. I'm hoping OH will come and help me tomorrow - I need to sort out some space soI can order logs and smokeless fuel for the winter. I've plenty of kindling as my fence fell down last January. I am NOT going to spend another winter freezing cold not daring to use any form of heat because of the cost and I hope that if I can keep the burner going 24 hours it will keep at least 1 room warm.

    Morning all

Souk - got everything crossed for you getting the job

    Janey welcome

Claire - it is under general chat formum

MG - can I post you the scarf to look at? I wondered if the body was crocheted but I think the other bits are knitted - but you will know. PM me your address I'll post it and include a return stamped envelop and you can pop it back when you are done.

Doing another stint on paperwork and updating my calendar with a multitude of mainly school, governing appointments.

After lunch (of an experimental what is left in the veg patch type) soup I shall do a bit in the garden - the sun the weatherman promised has not appeared.

Took a big 'Mummy' step this morning and have said that DS3 can trial walking home from school on his own.
The only road crossing is when he gets home to cross to our house in a residential road. It is about a 5 minute walk and full of Mums and kids coming home so I am sure he will be fine. This is a compromise as I am not ready for him to walk to school yet (as I like to know he is in there for the day) but will be handy when my next lot of invigilating starts. DS2 finishes school before him so will be home anyhow and DS1 is only about 5 minutes behind.

I have a crocheted necklace that I always tuck away (doesn't clang, but is bid enough and heavy enough to clip a mike onto)

Apart from that - I am rather, ahem "womanly" so its V necks all the way so I often get away with a cleavage mike :D

These are the things never covered in "presentation" skills programmes:rotfl::rotfl:

BTW - never wear a hand-boned corset under an evening dress when using a super sensitive radio mike - all the metal bones cause a massive feedback issue and even then you sould like a creaking ship in sail - ask me how I know???:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    MG

PS Matrix challenge (of sorts) popped over the other side - bit of an OMG one though.
the mike itself isn't a problem, it's the battery pack and transmitter which is usually about the size of a pack of cards and usually clips onto your belt or waistband. They can put it at the back of the neck of the dress, but then the arial annoys me. Obviously they need to update the technology with smaller stuff, but this is probably cheap. Either than, or I'll have to wear big knickers and have it under the dress!

After my massage this morning I nipped into town to look for tights and possibly shoes. Found the tights, and some shoes. Not the ones I went looking for, but I now have a pair of fit flop sandals (half price) and a pair of strappy wedges (also in the sale) that I need to try on without the woolly tights! Then I need to think hard about what shoes I need for the winter and consider getting some in Orlando if I can face going shopping as they'll be cheaper...

Suppose I should do some work now :p

ETA - lots of vibes for Souk!

    Hi all

    Positive vibes for Souk.

Feeling very Mondayish today and I struggled to think what day it was today, I feel as though I have been wandering around in a fog, I even missed ex OH's birthday on 3 September which is most unlike me. Still, I have more tomatoes to pick and can play myself some cheery tunes.

Must list stuff on Gumtree - decent stuff that I want to sell for a decent price rather than putting it on Ebay and getting a measly 99p. Still a bit wary of Gumtree though.

Today, I shall be working on a press release to go into a newspaper, I shall be blogging and putting ideas together for a blog that I need to send to the CEO of a huge company in America - this would be a massive boost for me if accepted:cool:

Also putting plans together for an out of hours networking event that I need to put on as well as making arrangements for a monthly business lunch which will be a money maker for me.

Need to wash up pots n pans and do more tidying.
  • Sounds quite exciting Horace! I am so blimmin' glad it's not monday though!!

    Hope Souk did well :)
