The Matrix - Re-Evolution!!

Good morning beautiful people of the matrix - along the theme of decluttering and why we do it, I just thought I would repost this from my diary this morning.....
"I'm ok - as I posted on my fb status this morning, today is one of those days to look around and appreciate what we have. Some friends of mine were evacuated from their home in Texas on Saturday....able to only take what they could fit in the car.....as wildfires had started. Four days on, and they believe that their home has been taken. The fires continue, as do the winds, and many properties have been lost, along with all their remaining possessions. My friends are safe with other family members, but I understand lives have been lost too.
So....a reminder to us all to keep things in perspective.
Also, on a slightly different angle, a reminder to make sure we all know where those "vital" things are.....if we were given just an hour to evacuate our homes, with the possibility of losing everything that was left behind, would we truly be able to locate and pack all the things that we really couldn't replace....along with vital documents such as house insurance, passports, birth/marriage certs.....?"

Good morning, raining like mad here, feeling a bit shell shocked getting up so early this morning lol. Ds2 left 7.25 for the school busarmed with his packed lunch, drink and new pencil case
DS1 will be leaving in about 1/2 hourso I'm going to have a good clean through. It's not too bad here it's tidy but the floors haven't been hoovered or washed since monday last week, and I want to change the beds.
It is raining pouring here, so I think today will be a no spend day as I am not venturing out in it lol.

Did we work in the same kitchen? In the same era? More recently, the emphasis has been on re-attaching the 'tip'. There should be a protocol in a commercial situation (sorry, no help in a domestic scenariao).
I do know of one instance where a fingertip arrived ahead of the finger - cue an interesting situation. :rotfl::rotfl:
Possibly not in the same era, but they're a bit backward in Norfolkit was more a case of trying to deal with it without disrupting service. I think if anyone had done anything serious they would have been taken to the surgery to be stuck back together. I still have a scar on one finger where in sliced through to the bone... and the burns all faded after a year or two. I think I now have feeling in all my finger tips!
Filthy weather here today. I may need to brave it and cut down the sweet peas as they are getting battered. I could do with picking up some windfall apples too, although mot of my apples are buggy this yearwashing would be good too, as I need to start packing on Friday.
Flooring people are going to be here at 9 to have a look and hopefully quote (I need to call some more and get them to look round too, and get hold of some plasterers). Then I have to go out for my massage appointment and come home for reflexology. I might manage some work at some point...0 -
Morning all, I was on training yesterday and it was brilliant, I've been given a cheat sheet so if I can get it scanned I'll upload it on the other side because it's fantastic for teaching/parenting/self esteem etc.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Morning all
I'm home alone and it feels blissful, the weather is rainy and windy and I'm not going out.
Yesterday I bought pomegranate and acorn squash to to widen my food intake - the pome I've quartered and am having the seeds in vanilla greek yoghurt. The squash I cooked with leeks and carrots into a think soup which is very nice and will make lunch today and tomorrow.
I had to write cheques totally £243 for schools yesterday and know I have £30 more in school lunch money for DS2 this month and trumpet lesson money (approx £96) for DS3 to come but hopefully in October.
Right plan is to do an hour's housework and then onto my paperwork piles which I'm still working on.

Snap. Just checked and the scar is still there!
Hypno : A good point and one of those things it's too easy to forget after a while.
All you mums : My, you sound chirpy. Have a nice quiet day.
MG : An HQ for MFi3 sounds a really good idea. You can waste a great amount of time clearing away and getting things out.
We've got the heavy rain as well so a NSD here today - Always look on the bright side of life. :cool:But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
Morning Matrix!
I just wanted to ask a bit of advice.
I need to get my maternity allowance sorted out for work. I'm not entitled to SMP because my earnings aren't high enough so I need to claim MA. I've been receiving SSP for a pregnancy related condition and, as I understand it, this will automatically stop when I reach 36 weeks (next Monday).
Next Monday falls bang in the middle of the two week pay period that my employment operates. When previously I've asked my boss about getting the forms I need from him to support my MA claim, he says "oh I'll see what the computer says at the time". Which isn't helpful because I'm only entitled to one more week SSP and then I have to wait for the DWP to process my claim before I have any money coming in again. Not gonna work with a newborn.
What I wanted to ask is, is it ok to send him the forms I need him to complete and ask him to do it in a week that he wouldn't normally run the payroll? Also is it ok to send the forms via Facebook as that's the only contact details I have for him?
I should add that my work is a small chip shop (6 employees, no "formal" contract) and its my boss' first company so he has no experience of sorting out maternity leave etc.
TIA, Win xxx0 -
Winnie The Pooh:
I think it would be ok to send the forms in but I would suggest you send them to the shop and not via Facebook. I may be suspicious but sending something so important and private via there could expose you to all sorts of things!:eek:Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942
