Afternoon all
Back from a wonderful few sunny days in Wales. As planned the only money we spent whilst away was one meal out in a restaurant and £6 in parking charges.
Lots of walking, geocaching and cricket on the beach. Finished my knitting project (simple snood), finished my book (Animal Farm in prep for if DS2 does it as a set set text this year). Need to try to keep a bit of that relaxed holiday feeling going.
Plan to finish up August's challenges in the next few days. I have quite a few of my own plans for this month so will just partake in the odd challenge which I feel suits if that is ok.
Hugs to all having a difficult time especially Cricket

So I wont be on over the weekend while I catch up, I am so excited hes 34 and I do miss him.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.
MG your little one sounds so cute.:)Taking it one day at a time0 -
woohoo first week of school done and new class are ok and willing to get on with my way of teaching - I want independent, intrepid learners who are willing to give things a go. I did say to them last term that in my class we work hard and play hard and they have already helped produce a fab display of shields with their favourite things on and they have only been in 2 days!
Am chuffed with myself this first week as I've made it into school significantly earlier than I have for years and I feel much more in control than normal - long may this last! Even dh has commented that I seem pretty determined about life atm and he barely sees me cos of his weird shifts.
Struggling to come to terms with the fact that dd now has new school shoes in adult size 4 she is only 9 - am going to be very MSE and cut down on the food we give her :rotfl:(joke obviously)Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Dorastar : Congrats on what you are doing in school. I wish you had taught my children or grandchildren – you would have needed a Tardis to do that! You sound so upbeat and vibrant.
I’m not so sure about the joke re DDs shoe size! One of mine went up a half size every couple of months for a while and then, mercifully, stopped for a while. Someone suggested that he would then grow tall and that the big feet would stop him falling over. He is now size 12 shoes and 6’2”.
Only saying.
Kimsmum : what a lovely surprise. Enjoy his visit and treasure every moment. As a mum with similarly scattered kids, I can imagine how you feel.
MG : Glad DS2 got his cuddle. Respect to Head! But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -

This year the theme is explorers and we are going to 'find' a treasure chest next week with a huge key in it, which we will find out belongs to Henry VIIIth, then we are going to research Tudor life and have a day when we do all things tudor - food, pomanders, lace making, marzipan fruits, nine mens morris and finished off with tudor dancing - My job is ace.
Am hoping dd will do what I did and continue to be the tallest in her class (always on the back row in the middle of class photos) and then stop at the age of 11! I am size 7 shoes so there is still hope.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

and has left some stuff here... I think he might be trying to move himself in gradually and hoping that he won't realise until it's done! He misses his kids so much that it's hard for him, but won't accept my suggestion that I move down that way to be with him. What is it about men and compromises?
Glad you had a lovely holiday. My bathroom is now finished as the duff grout has been redone, OH sorted out the shower caddy and my parents occupied themselves this afternoon while I was working by putting up the blindI have a flooring guy coming over on Tuesday and am finding numbers for two more flooring people and three plasterers to call on Monday.
Good to hear so much good news right now, with all the difficult stuff we've had recently. The little positive things are what make the difference.
I have my parents' dog staying this weekend as they're at my DB's. I'm going over for the party tomorrow but that's it. The dog (who is an 11 year old working lab) and I won't be doing much... Short walks and lots of lying around (especially if the weather is good). I do have some work to catch up on too, so will try to get it out of the way.0 -

I'm about ready to regress myself and join your class. :T:T:j:j:T:T
What age do I have to regress to?
BTW I was almost shortest till 12 and then shot up scarily. In my teenage years, I was not slim but scraggy. But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -

Don't forget about the Blackwork embroidery on the clothes and do be careful about nut allergies! (for instance Marchpane or marzipan would kill me)

Ace news kimsmum!
Dorastar I have the opposite problem, my wee feet are only a 2! I wear a 3 if theres a strap so I can cling on to it but getting wee shoes is a right palaver. Every time I go to Primarni etc for a cheap pair for work or whatever I cant find 3's but there are loads of 9's!!!!!!! It gets me in such a tizz.
Gb, glad they're getting on with the work.
Had a lovely day today. My friend who lives in Dubai is over for a weekend and I met her and her mum for lunch. We had a deal, obviously but it was fab and great to see her. She was telling me all her plans and they're fab. She's trying for a baby in the new year and saving lots for it's arrival. SOOOO chuffed for her. We met when we'd both just come back to the UK from years of repping and in an office of 250 VERY dreary women in office cardis she was my sanity!
Off out to play with one of my lovely colleagues tonight and then working through this weekend X'The road to a friends house is never long'0
