Do you think I can make risotto with tinned artichokes? I was going to make a mushroom one with dried mushrooms, but then again, I have artichokes...

I don't see why not! I found this recipe

I'll give it a try... But now at least I know that there is a reason for all the odds and ends I like to keep in the kitchen :)

Another one puts hands up for risotto. DS1 is brilliant at making it.

Morning writing accomplished - now I need to decide whether to do 90 minutes sewing or knitting (don't want to let the momentum drift with the Mummy knitting as it takes so much longer than toddler stuff.

Think sewing for DS2 may have to take precedence, then school run and back to work for a while.

PS For those requesting back challenges - don't other we start a new on on the 1st of September - Frugal September is looming.

    Frugal September is looming.

    Brilliant timing!

1st September is d-day for us. The boys go back to school and DH is free to make a start on the house and his arts/crafts stuff. I want it back to clean and de-cluttered before he starts, and he wants a list of things I want done in order of priority based on materials we already have. August we have had half of his wages which paid the mortgage. September we drop to the money from selling my car paying the mortgage, and living on my part time wages which we can then manage for nine months on . Materials for the house have to come out of e-bay and etsy sales.

    Exciting times :j

Afternoon all! Thank you for all the good vibes from yesterday for my American cousin and all those on the East Coast ... she's fine, never even lost electricity, the worst is only twigs and whatnot on the ground. A few local people had problems (a tree that was already dead fell over and just missed a house, that sort of thing) but their whole community is safe :):):)
