Greenbee that is a hard one, how close are you and how much contact do you usually have. I'm rubbish at keeping contact with family and speak to Sis and Sil many be once every 8 weeks. You are feeling down and deserted and are fed up of not being your usual self. Eat more chocolate it has iron in it. chin up and hope you start to have more energy soon. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Oh dear Greenbee that is difficult. I often get a fit of the "nobody cares" when I am down. I dont hear a lot from my brothers and sister but we are always there as soon as we need each other. The problem is that we all get caught up in our lives and time rushes by so quickly. I try to make an effort and send texts at least once a week but it still feels PAH when I am always the one that seems to make the effort.
Maybe a little nudge might make them realise that you need a bit of attention?
Big hugs, and a selfish thank you for making me realise that I am not alone in those feelings. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. I have had a productive and positive day - sounds like you guys have as well.
I have made a pattern for toddler trousers - and made a pair of bermudas and 2 pairs of trousers next size up for DS2. these are "Fancy Smancy" pairs with patch pockets and top stitching the lot.
Mum came to visit so we took the kids to local cafe in the afternoon (ceramics place that has a play-centre for kids). Mum and I both took our knitting - I have finally learned how to make marvellous shoulder seams and how to pick up sleeves - wait till you see what I am knitting myself, it is gorgeous.
Mum (bless her) is knitting a proper Aran for DS2 - i looks lovely. So we have had the smallest Stitch n !!!!! meeting ever (betcha the filters edit that one out).
Actually had an ulterior motive -at some point I want to use the cafe as a venue for craft classes - so made sure plenty of people who stopped to chat we canvassed as to whether they would like something like that on a Sunday Afternoon.

*Hugs* for greenbee: you are so full of good advice for us, it's easy to forget you could do with a bit of tea and sympathy as well. *Sneakily hands over large bar of chocolate*
Have just made a roast beef dinner with my first ever stab at Yorkshire puddings. The results were hysterical! I think I may need to try again next time.0 -
Today I decluttered a good 1000 books belonging to my sister off to my parents house. Dusty and Greenbee may remember them being tmeporarily being stored here 18 months ago, a huge corner of our bedroom has been cleared which will make moving things to get on with the building works a lot easier.
My mum had copies of hovel garden and the hovel kitchen one which is great, and I have borrowed lots more things to read for both DH and I which will help with the book buying cold turkey situation. I also came back with a big bag of home grown fruit and veg including the most wonderful smelling discovery apples. I just stood under the tree and sniffed great lungfuls. Also came back with lots of scrap metal for DHs projects, and a pile of original hand made bricks that mean we can repair the damage done by 1950s renovations that involved taking out half of the arch for the original bread making oven. After that we just need to track down an original bread making oven :rotfl:.
Mr B, good to see you over here.
Greenbee, to be fair with one child under one and heavily pregnant I ignored most people. indeed I still do and I no longer have the excuse of young children.

Tuscan Bean thingy
Verdict : Yum. It will be added to our 'meal in a flash' list. I must admit to adding 2 snipped up slices of smoked bacon that needed using and we sprinkled a bit of cheese over the top but I think it would be just as great as per original recipe. ... Which is better than the alternative ...
I've just realised that I have been out of hospital for 4 weeks. I have spoken to my brother 3 times (he called once, to speak to my dad) and had half a dozen texts (several while they were on holiday with messages for my parents or asking for addresses). I have had one text from my SIL. I saw my SIL for 5 minutes when I dropped my mother off there after she stayed with me. Am I being unreasonable in thinking they might have made a little more effort?
Nope. But I'm not surprised. It happens - we choose our friends but not our family.
We are friends, not family. ((()))But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
Thank you all for your feedback. In the light of hex's comments I will forgive my SIL... but my brother will have to work at it.
Apparently once the iron kicks I will be less bad tempered. All I can say is that I must have been low on it for a very, very long timeI am now expecting an overnight personality change!

Thank you for all your positive vibes and thoughts today.
Long diary entry just done xx0 -
It's not that I don't appreciate her being here... But we may now have passed the stage where she's looking after me and I have to make an effort and I'm just not up to it. And she has been here nearly a Hek, which I'm sure most of you will agree is a long time to have your mother in your house, even if you're not well
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Just reading through the thread trying to keep up. Not sure about joining in, didn't feel comfortable last time as some things were said that weren't great. But anyway I will try again. And this did make me giggle. I don't live in the UK anymore, so my mum comes out to me for christmas to see the DS's. She stays for 12 WEEKS:eek::eek::eek::eek:By the end of it I want to never have her to stay again, take up smoking and run away for some peace! She is ALWAYS ON THE GO, can't stay in and wants to chivvy us along. Even the boys get sick of it and they do alot of sport and stuff and at the weekends is slobbing time.....Sigh.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
