Morning all! :hello:
Welcome to new folk. It's great to have you chip in.
Positive vibes to all and sundry, especially HL.
It is lovely here but definitely cooler, to the point where I put on a cauldron of soup this morning. DH is already hovering around the kitchen in the hope that lunchtime will come sooner. It won't.
Then F1 in Belgium and a walk if the weather holds.
Have a good day, folks. But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
Morning

Morning all
I'll be thinking of you HL, in your heart you know this is what you want and in the future you will be in a better place for today, sending you strength.
Welcome to all the newbies
Just trying to finish the packing then off to cricket with the boys for chunks of the day and off to Wales tonight. Today's cricket is a charity event for Teenage Cancer. A young player at the club died of a brain tumour just 18 a few years ago. His brother is club captain and runs the event each year for the charity. It really is a day to be so thankful that your own children are healthy and to realise you never know what is around the corner so to make the most of everyday.
I'll see you all next weekend when I look forward to catching up on the last of the August Challenges and starting September a fresh (for me I'll be looking at Finances, energy bills and insulation, starting some exercise, trying some new recipes, sorting out the garden seeds/bulbs etc for winter and generally enjoying my favourite month of the year).
Wishing you all a week of sunshine and smiles xxThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Igamogam - yup, my version starts just above my right eye and hurts so much that my eye streams. I think it is a version of migraine ...
I'd suggest a GP diagnosis and also look up Buteyko breathing. I can stop a migraine coming on by only breathing through my nose. This technique may reduce the paid of a cluster headache as well.0 -
I started to read "the Secret" last night at 8pm was still reading at 1.30pm
could not put it down. I now understand how some things happened in my life.
I was married at 18 and moved to another country at 20 with my OH.
Lived what I thought was a good life, then at 44 my OH sent me a letter by courier
to tell me it was over.
He was not coming home,he had meet someone else and they had made a home together.
My OH traveled sometimes with work so was away from home alot.
But unknown to me that had stopped two years previous.
So for two years when he told he was away, he had been living the other side of town
with his partner.
I have always blamed myself, I could not have been a good wife, was there something I could have done but didnt, the list goes on etc etc.
He would not talk or meet with me, so finaly a year later I asked for a divorce.
We had to go to court to sign the papers that was the first time I had seen him
since he left thats when I meet this partner.
It was a friend of ours who we had lost contact with about five years before we split.
So that was when it suddenly clicked the friend lost contact on purpose.
I asked why they could they not tell me to my face instead of a letter from a courier.
There answer was they didnt want to hurt me any more that they aready had.
Also because our friend was male, and they didnt want me to feel any less of them.
I moved back home to Northern Ireland, and a couple of years later meet a lovely man.
We have been together six years married three.I am now 55 hes 65.
It was something MG said in one of her posts to someone that made me think,
I have forgiven my ex and his partner.
But have always blamed myself for the marrige breakdown when it really had nothing to do with me
It was only after MGs comment and reading The Secret that one thing was clear I had not for given myself.
So early this morning I lit a candle and forgave myself and wished my ex and his partner all the best.
I feel so much better this morning.
So Thank you ladies for all your help for MGs comment and steering me to read "The secret"
I think I have found the new ME and I am ready for her.:)Taking it one day at a time0 -
The Positivity of the Secret and the way this applies to the Universe can be very powerful Kimsmum. And I'm so glad its helped you make some realisations, but never underestimate the power of SELF, because thats what the Secret really is all about. Its YOU that made the realisation, its YOU that will make positive changes from now on. All the Secret has done is help tip the scales to unleash the potential and positivity that was already within you. You just hadnt realised it till now.

Today I would like you to take a wander around your home and find yourself a "Place of your Own" - a little corner that you can kit out to be a mini-sanctuary, a place to park yourself, a place to be still and think, a place to listen to some inspirational music, to read a little something uplifting.
A cosy chair, a warm blanket, a soft pillow, a basket for your crafts and a table at your elbow to hold a cup of something warming and a small pile of heart-helping books.
My only condition - I don't want this to be a desk, this is a place away from work, a place to take some Quality Recovery Time - a place just for you.
So go de-clutter yourself the perfect place

Now this *is* my kind of challenge, you were right when you said that yesterday, MG!It is lovely here but definitely cooler, to the point where I put on a cauldron of soup this morning. DH is already hovering around the kitchen in the hope that lunchtime will come sooner. It won't.

Just a thought .... I've just remembered that *I* can ask for positive vibes too ... so can I please ask for positive thoughts for my beloved American cousin, who's disabled and in her 60s, sleeping in her hallway under threat of a tornado warning, and with a Category 1 hurricane about to descend on her ....2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Karmacat. I am thinking of your cousin and all the other people who are facing Irene and all of her challenges. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0
