:j:j:j MG does little celebration dance :j:j

Kids are back at school - so back to the Money saving ways after uniforms and shoes expenditure (which was all saved up for but now I need to save up again IYSWIM??)

Today I managed to shuffle a whole £34.21 into my Saving Pot - which still leaves me with a whole £500 in my current account for normal bills etc.

I have reached the tipping point I hope where there is more money left at the end of the month rather than other way around.

Target is to have £500 in the Savings Pot and then concentrate on clearing the Bank Guarantee - then that Mortgage Is Mine (where's the evil laugh smiley????)

Happy Days when there is a small celebration

    Morning everyone,

Dusty - are you taking your DS to the Grand Designs at B'ham this year? DH and I are probably going with the free tickets again. I know you have taken him to the London ones and so on before as part of encouraging him in his dream. Congrats on both sets of results btw. SS2 hasn't got his yet as he has had to go away to visit an ill relative and school have said he has to collect them in person.

Day off today so trying to catch up on everything. DH is in an art and craft frenzy though so first we need to go and buy materials. The joy of one car and living in a village!

ETA woohoo MG, savings, I remember those. They will be mine again :)

I feel rich hex, rich I tell you -:rotfl::rotfl:

I've been asked by the mentors to do some scary "planning" stuff today - so better get a wiggle on - DS2 is due back in 90 minutes

    Morning all

Been very disciplined so far today checking the various bank accounts etc. DH's wages went in last night so I've transferred the bit we had left in our current account into the linked saver to try to build that up (it had £2 in it). I can transfer it back instantly through the month if need be but will try not to although with all the school payments due first week back that may not be possible we will see. I did treat myself to some walking boots in the sale yesterday which were 66.6% off. I have had one pair of birkies I've worn all summer and one of my feet is not good so needs support. I shall take them to wales next week and then hope to use them on my weekly exercise walk with my friend.

Hex - No not doing GD again this year. DS2 has his work experience first week back and is going with a friend who is a builder renovating a property nearby. He visited it before the work started earlier in the year so is looking forward to going back. Good luck to SS with his results.

Time for a shower and to finish my daily chores. See you later.

I have read your thread from start to finish, mind you its taken a week or so. The positivity that shines through is amazing.
I have not read "The Secret "yet.
I am trying hard to pay off my debt and not spend unless we need it. But I think I could benefit from reading this book
so I am going to purchase it and now cannot wait until I receive it.
    So Thank you Ladies

kimsMum welcome aboard, I am new myself. Could you borrow the book from the library rather than buy it? You could then put the cost of the book away to start your savings/paying off your debt.

Dusty, I feel so excited for your son. Knowing what you want is one thing, having parents and friends who actively encourage you to follow that passion is a whole different thing. I think he is very lucky to have you as his parents. Who knows he might be the next George Clarke or Sarah Beeney (male version obviously). I was out working with the public this week and I met the nephew of Sir Clough William-Elis who designed and built Port Meirion. Despite not being an architect himself he won an Architectural award and and award from Prince Charles. The only non- architect ever to win an award for architecture. He said that he was unable to follow his dreams and had to work in the forestry commission but I said he had obviously followed his dreams in a different way. He had never looked at it like that.

Thanks MG for the post re 12 noon today. I am all ready and waiting.

Welcome Kimsmum, I'm pretty sure that some opf the Matrix members will have the e-book of the Secret, and be more than happy to share ( I did have it but lost it through computer crash).

No reason to spend when the Matrix is more than happy to share ;)
