Heres to a more successful November x

    I'll get there!
  • Hello everyone,

Today I have had an awful sore throat....aw poor me!!! Took some tablets after lunch and feel a lot better so glad its controllable.

Nothing much to report today. Feel a bit stale!

Rang Next this morning as they sent me the wrong sized boots and when I spoke to customer services today they said that a new pair hadn't been ordered!! Thought I was speaking to a YT on Saturday, he was very vague about how to do things and when the new pair would be delivered. If I complain again then they may think I am just after another voucher (well I am ha ha).

I have been winterising my car (reading the OS boards)...have put a blanket and de-icer in the boot and I have today bought an in car charger for £8 from Amazon in case I break down.
The big winterisation is the tyres, I need 2 new tyres and I feel inclined to splash out and get winter ones as last year I didn't leave the house in the snow, we have rear wheel drive cars. I guess it just depends when my car is due a service as the tyres will be £80 each more per tyre than normal ones and it will leave me short in car pot if service is due....one good thing though is I will be able to use them next year too.

Got 6 £2's when out shopping yesterday...will deposit those in winnie the pooh piggy bank and update siggy.

I spent more than I ever have done in Al*** yesterday (£40), but when I looked at what I had bought I was happy with myself. Poundies was the same (£20), stocked up on 18 triple velvet toilet rolls for £6.
It means I only have meals and pullups to buy in Mr A's at the weekend, must avoid the clothes though.

I plan to have a week off work in November, I am going to take DD to nursery one day and go Chrimbo shopping on my own, I can't remember the last time I went shopping witout DD.

  • Hey,
I have just noticed I have two stars WAHOOOOO....I'm not a newbie anymore.

Not feeling too good still so sat in bed with laptop, think I need to go to sleep to sleep off what ever lurgy I have.

Bought 2 first class stamps today on top of charger...£9 spend logged in diary.

Had crumpets for tea...think I ate too much cake at work thanks to my lovely friends who work in the labs.

Got DD's pics back at nursery, now I need to find some lovely frames for them.

Having a right chew on with OH with Christmas coming up, wanting to get things booked for me and DD to do but feel like I need to invite him along, don't even know what the relationship will be like by then and he thinks I should book things for just us 3. He has been in a mood for 2 days over the £6 present and now he has sorted his face out he expects everything to be fine again !!!!!!? Going round in circles springs to mind.

  • Morning Diary,

Checked accounts, no changes...apart from the money for the Christmas Panto has come out of my account and OH hasn't coughed up his half yet.

I am shattered again today, DD was complaining of her tummy hurting last night and was in and out of bed more times than I can remember.

Blooming heating came on at 12:30pm as the advanced button doesn't work as I thought, I thought it would just put the heating on for 1 hour but it seems it comes on until the next time it is programmed to come on again. So there is a lesson for me...turn it off after an hour. I had to get up and sort it out as DD and I were boiling.

Home insurance needs sorting today, will do that at lunch time. Go Compare says that esure is the best deal but I need to go on the esure website and get a quote to get my £45 cashback.

We got a Virgin document through the door and I think we need to switch from SKY to save money, only thing is its in OH's name and waiting for him to sort anything out on the phone is like waiting for hell to freeze over.

Cleaned the fridge out this morning before work, I was disgusted to find a growth underneath the drawer at the bottom, so all was turfed out cleaned and anti bacterialised...no wonder we are ill.

Taking DD for a play in the soft play area and tea tonight, I have a free voucher for the play and kids eat free when you buy a meal so will only cost me a drink and me tea!!!

Afternoon Livvy, hows the throat today? I woke up at 1.30am and I seriously thought I wouldnt be in work today as it felt like I was swallowing razor blades! Anyway I took some tablets, went back to sleep and this morning I woke up fine! Ive got yet another cold but I can deal with that.

Well done on your bargains yesterday xx

  • Hi Mummy,
After taking tablets yesterday my throat has been fine, I thought I was getting tonsilitis...strange that isn't it? I still have a cough though and can't seem to sleep properly. Do you think this is the way its going to be now until Spring? I hope not.

  • Morning Diary,
I am feeling a bit better today, didn't have the sick feeling last night so hopefully on the mend. DD has less snot too, although yesterday she went to play outside at nursery and she wouldn't wear her coat so she ended up with blue lips. They were all really worried about her so had her sitting next to the radiator. The thing is she is full of cold so why let her outside without it?

MIL is ill today, so I have had to put DD in nursery an extra day (another £35 on next months bill). It was the last day she has having her before she goes on holiday, Monday she is getting her hair done. So I am going to work from home for 2 days next week.
I have worked out that with their holidays and my holidays MIL is only due to have DD annother 8 days before full time nursery WAHOO. :j

Took DD to the soft play last night with my free voucher, then we had tea (£5 for my meal and DD ate free). So with the wine I spent about £13.

I will update my spends diary and check my accounts today, I also need to finish shopping list for Mr A's tomorrow.

Going to email the council and tell them that OH hasn't been living with me since February, that way I will manage to reduce my bill. If he moves back in then I will re-inform them...tbh it isn't looking likely.

sounds good decision on tax and OH to me

At least your MIL didn't greet you with the words - your daughter has nits :o:eek:and gave them me :eek:and we haven't dared go anywhere this week :( Spent an hour and half combing thro DD's extremely long hair with special anti-nit conditioner trying to get them out....:( It hurt both of us!! My hand was aching and her head was hurting

I'm due at the hairdresser tomorrow  so am now worried about what state my hair may be in as she often nicks my brush :eek::eek::o

  • AAARGH, what a nightmare. Nits are so common though aren't they? My DD has really long hair and I always try to put it in plaits for nursery as I know how easily they can be caught. I'm sure you've got them all out, do you keep scratching your head when you think about them?

Hope you haven't caught any. Reminds me of when my MIL used to foster children, she took one of her girls to the hair dressers and the hair dresser said...'sorry we can't cut her hair today as she has nits'!!!!! MIL is like Mrs Bucket and was distraught.

My MIL was so paranoid she took her nowhere which I think is just mean. If she'd asked me I could have told her what worked last time... as it was she took DD's advice which was wrong and didn't work LOL It meant that DD didn't really have a good time at MIL's which is a shame as MIL was reluctant to even take her shopping for goodness sake... she just pictured them leaping from head to head. What amused me is she still had her own hair done today even tho DD had given them her and didn't say anything to the hairdresser.... MIL was absolutely mortified - she had boys - she said she couldn't have coped keep going thro this with a girl.... her sons never caught them when they were young so DD was the first in the family LOL.... She's been trying to persuade DD to have her hair cropped / bobbed which would make things more manageable....

Problem is for last few weeks we'd tried to get her to wash her own hair as I think at 8 she should be able to.... So not noticed there was a problem
