    Hi Dairy,

Hi Mummy and MrsP, thank you for thinking about me.

Well its been a long time and I have lots to talk about so thought I would share with you.
Im still on steroids for my colitis but its definitely getting better. I still have a way to go to get off the steroids and each time I taper down I get more symptoms of colitis so its hard but hopefully not for much longer.

Money has been all over the place this month, I booked a holiday for DD and I for 5th June to the Cape Verdes Islands, I need some sun and something to look forward to so that took a chunk out of my accounts...but it wasn't too expensive, it cost me about £1100 for the both of us all inclusive for a week. Two of my friends are coming with us too so its going to be fab. I have covered the cost of the holiday by taking money out of the different pots so it won't hit too badly.

The major news is that the house swap is back on :j) the man who I was going to swap with last year has been to see me and tell me he now has a job so we have both put in our mortgage applications and started the solicitors process.

Unfortunately I can't port my excellent mortgage rate because I needed ex OH's approval from NationWide, I did ask him but he said "No, I might want it, and why should you have it all your way?" He then said that we could strike a deal and if I was saving on the mortgage then he would give me less maintenance for DD. What a selfish $%£%£? He isn't even buying a house yet so no one will get the deal...mind you he won't be getting my approval if he wants it.

Im a bit nervous about the mortgage as I am wanting to borrow as much as they will give me affordability wise, this is based on my salary alone. If I can't borrow that much then I will have to include ex OH's maintenance money to bring the affordability up.

The other thing is that I need ex to pay his loan (with my name on it) as soon as the funds are released and before completion, what I don't want is him running off with his money and not paying the loan. This is in the hands of the solicitors.

So the conclusion is straight foward lol. Once I move house I can get rid of ex for good...and boy am I going to have a party. Its been a long 2 years.

Hope everyone is OK. I feel like Im on a bit of a roller coaster at the moment. Company annouced 110 job cuts yesterday...my job should be OK though.

Divorce has gone to the courts.

    Hi Diary,

    Hi Mummy,
Aw I know, its all go at the moment. Infact I am having trouble sleeping on a night because I can't turn my brain off.

But its all good as it stands (well it couldn't have got any worse than it was at the beginning of the year).

OK so where am I at?

Holiday is 3 weeks today! YIPPEEE :j

House move could be a week on Friday! I have my mortgage offer and now Im just waiting for house swap man to get his mortgage offer, he has had it in principle but Building Soc were just waiting for his employer ref which has been faxed off now.

Ex OH is coming for his furniture (anything he thinks will make him some money) on Friday, I have managed to get it all into the garage so myself and DD are living in one very bare house. Funny I didn't realise he was so mercenary when I married him.

Loans will all be paid on completion so thats one less worry. And come the day of my move I will be debt free :D (well except for mortgage). Does that mean I can post in the roll of honour?

I have been to see about life, redundancy and illness cover today. Its not cheap but I need to make sure DD is secure financially should anything happen to me...how sensible am I?

Still no news on the job front but its something I can't let myself worry, will cross that bridge if it comes to it.

I feel like I am starting to get my sense of humour and spark back, I think some one stole it from me in 2010, its been a struggle and it certainly isn't over but I'm a hell of a lot closer to starting a Fab New Life for me and DD. (just wish ex would s0d off to a different planet :rotfl:)

    Hi Diary,

Quick update (as I have a meeting soon), we will all find out if we have a job or not by the 21st May!!

Nothing from house swap man yet, he was having his application looked over by the case manager so should hear very soon...HURRY UP!

Packed some more boxes last night and will do a few more tonight. I am getting to a point where I can't pack much more coz its stuff I need.

I need to make a meal plan at some point of all the food in the freezer, could do with eating as much as possible out of there before we move...DD will be over the moon if it means more eating.

    Hi Diary,

    Here I am lol.

Well its been the busiest two months ever. Some good bits like moving house and going on holiday but some bad bits like being told I was one of the people who might not have a job.

Anyway it turns out I have now (after waiting 2 months to hear), got a new job and a little promotion.

So at last for the first time in 2.5 years I can actually chill out and enjoy life a bit.

I love my new house and I have nearly spent my stash of money getting it all sorted out...hence the reason for coming back on here.

I don't have any debt now as it all got paid when I moved but really need to get my money head back on. Popping to Aldi tonight with the smallest shopping list ever. My freezer is jam packed so I don't see any reason for us not to be able to live on whats in there for the month. Only thing is I need to do packed lunches for myself and DD so need a few fresh bits.

Im going to update my siggy as its all changed...think I am the only person in the world who can sell their house, go on holiday, lose their job and get a new one in 2 months. Talk about out with the old and in with the new.

Well peeps, I have been reading a couple of things on MSE and Im not sure I should be on the dfw diaries anymore :( because I actually am debt free....I just can't believe it.

However I do need to carry on my frugal ways and control my spends so I will still be around to catch up on everyone elses diaries and read around to see how best to keep my shopping beast under control.
