  • Well done you getting your pressies through topcashback, I must use that more...£60 for a pony!! The things we do for our children :p

Shame you friend has poorly children but lovely that you get a nice girly night with DD, I must admit, I do look forward to being able to do that.

I am lucky with DH :o though he is still a right pain in the A$$ sometimes!
Its good that you are so much better off without your ex OH. From reading your diary its obvious he was really dragging you down, and even through your posts its clear to see how much happier you are :j

    Any plans for the weekend?

  • I was lucky with that pony, DD said she wanted the white one, but the toffee one was £13 cheaper. I thought she wouldn't notice but then tonight she saw it on the tv and said...I want that pony but I want the white one...phew! Thank god I got the white one.

I think men are all pains at one stage or another, just some you can live with. It was difficult for me as ex OH was being so horrible but I kept thinking about how good it was at the start. The turning point was when I realised he would never change back. Now I have to concentrate on the future as Ive made my decision.

Aw, it's a quiet weekend for me...good on the purse tho. DD goes dancing on a Saturday morning but we've had snow so not sure I fancy driving in it.

    How about you? X

  • OMG my bills are £2434.97 a month. Included in that is my car loan and half ex's car loan and the solicitors bill, but still! This is shocking. Good job I am good with my money now.

Once I move house I have estimated the bills to be £1500! Im trying not to let it get me down and concentrate on the winning post but the figures are shocking.

Right, my winter tyres are on my car. I paid a tyre company to come to my house and fit them, it only cost me £40...took some time off work and got a few jobs done whilst he was fitting them.

We had snow on Friday night...yuk!

Went to Mr Als yesterday £70, and Mr T's are coming tonight £65, that should do be for a while and I have my meals plans all up to date.

Hoping to do some exercise when DD asleep tonight, bless her she is all to pot with the hour. She asked to go to bed at 6:30 last night.

Our pumpkin is all carved and ready YEY.

  • Hi Diary,

    Plodding on today.

DD not very well so been up in the night, wanting drinks and toilet, too hot, too cold....so am a bit tired.

Its 3 for 2 on toys in Tesco so Im going to have to get my laptop out tonight and have a good look through them. DD has asked for a ironing board and iron but apart from that and the pony she hasn't said she wants anything else.

Mr T came last night and my fridge is that full it doesn't look like the light comes on when I open it, I have got a lot of stuff in the fridge which I would normally freeze so think its time to turn on my chest freezer in the garage.

Ex OH got his letter yesterday, he really didn't seem that bothered about the divorce bit...he is just happy to cancel his mediation and save his money. He didn't give any indication of whether or not he was happy with the proposal but he has over 4 weeks to accept before Decembers car installment comes out, so fingers crossed.

Money all good, child benefit went in today. I've just been reading up about them taking it off you percentage wise if you earn over £50k, I guess its better than the original proposal but its really unfair on single parents :(

  • Aw I feel your pain with DD being up during the night, it makes it so much harder to function at work doesnt it?!

Its always nice when the fridge is completley full like that! Our delivery is coming tomorrow :D

Fingers crossed your ex OH actually sorts himself out after this letter...can you remind me what this one is proposing? Other than no more mediation?

I hope they dont start messing with Child Benefit, its literally the only thing we get :(

  • Well I had a good nights sleep last night, I always sleep better after exercise and DD slept almost a full night in her bed too so we are both in better moods today.

I had a nightmare on the way home from work last night, a large bird decided to cross the dual carriage way and I hit it...I felt so sad, and then when I got to the childminders I had a look and its bottom was hanging out my grill. The child minders daughter (who is 11 and not scared of these things) pulled it out for me but it took some doing as it was really wedged in. :(

    Hi Sam,
The current letter is offering ex 50/50 on the house profit as long as he takes over the payments of his car immediately and doesn't touch any more of my money (like pension). It also told him that I was filing for divorce.

I got home last night to find a letter off my solicitor to say he has written to ex to invite him to put forward in the divorce petition that he has a new partner as this will be the quickest and easiest thing, but he will have to admit adultery and I am not sure he will do that. Luckily the letter wasn't accusing so will see what comes of it.

Aw child benefit is all I get too, I am relying on that at the moment for DD's clothes but it looks like I could potentially be losing it...bit by bit. The bit that shocked me about it was that if you have split up, the person who the child doesn't live with could actually claim the money...so if I can't claim it as I earn too much, then ex could! How bad is that?

Money is still the same today, hoping to get through the month spending a relatively small amount out of my pots.

Something I have noticed is that I don't use as much petrol going to the child minder...£60 for a full tank might actually last me a whole month. :D

  • Hi Diary,

I have saved £7.50! I'm feeling pleased with myself ha ha.
I didn't get a pizza last night because the pizza shop had sold out !!!!!!, so I just decided not to bother. And I got up and made my lunch for today instead of being lazy and going to the canteen. It all adds up doesn't it?

DD had a great time last night, although it was really wet here and all the kids were soaking.

Ex mentioned the letter from the solicitor, said he won't admit to adultery for divorce and he doesn't have to sign the papers when I put the reasons for unreasonable behaviour. He wants to wait until Feb when we have been seperated 2 years. He gets on my nerves! Its not like he hasn't done the things...he just doesn't want to look bad !!!!!!.
At least that hurdle is over now and we won't be fighting about it...wouldn't waste my breath anyway.

There is talk of a cost of living rise at work, apparently its Septembers RPI (2.2%) plus an extra 1%, wouldn't be that bad if the pension increments weren't going up, hopefully it will work out about £70 a month...happy with that.

  • Hi Livvy

Sorry your ex is being a noob!!!

Not wishing to pry but if your earnings are just over £50,000 it can make more sense to pay more money in to a pension to bring your earnings down and so you still qualify for CB.

Some of the people on the benefits board have been talking about it recently and there should be info on the internet some where.

  • Hi Eagor Elephant,

Thats a really good idea, I have just read up online and it says it goes on your adjusted net income and not your gross. My childcare vouchers are in the same column as the pension contributions so I am just wondering if they are taken into account too?

Thank you for your help xx

    Hi Mummy,

Lovely to hear from you. Aw I know, honestly he is such a pr!ck. He doesn't want to look bad and so is going to come off scott free for putting me through hell. He has asked to swap his day with DD next weekend for my day, I thought...on your bike pal!

DD is having bad dreams about that bird too lol...poor thing has been traumatised.
