Hope you have a good day working from home. My DD told me she had an inset day but luckily I checked as DS has but she hasn't!!! Makes life a bit easier today.
We used to use a peppermint and tea tree shampoo and conditioner all the time on DD and I think it does work as in that time she was free of any little visitors... we'd got out of the habit recently....
She has a tangle teazer but isn't even keen on using that!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi Diary,
I am in from Halloween, DD had a lovely time in the Wacky but I think musical statues and pass the parcel were a bit old for her, she just wanted to dance and open pressies.
Glad I went out though as I bought a couple of bags of mini mars bars for the trick or treaters and put them in a bowl. The first two kids that came to the door took about five each...so rude!
Then on my way out I passed a gang of six hoodies who were just blatently out for the money and a child of about 8 carrying a large rocket. He said something to me about bonfire night and when I challenged him he walked off...I just can't believe that parents let their kids walk the streets like that. When I was a kid my mum said it was begging and I could only go to a couple of the neighbours. Think I'm getting old ha ha.
Made cheese scones with DD this afty, my boss rang for a chat whilst my fingers were covered in dough, I acted like I was sitting with my laptop and phone at the ready.
SH, good job you could check with DS. When DD gets older I will just have to take her word for these type of things.

Morning Diary,
OK so had an awful morning before I even got to work.
When I got downstairs the tv wouldn't come on and I noticed that the electrics had tripped, so I flicked the switch and nothing happened. Text OH to ask him to come and and have a look before he went to work at 1. OH rings back directing me through sorting out the switches...still nothing.
I was panicking as the fridge and freezer were off. Anyway about to set off for work late and OH arrives, goes into the kitchen and fixes the problem (I was flicking the wrong switch).
Then we had a massive fight before I set off to work as he was annoyed I had got him out of bed when he could have fixed it over the phone...I think its the least he could have done for DD.
Anyway he has been back to look at electrics (coz he knows he was in the wrong) and said that a switch is causing the electrics to trip and the oven won't work. So I have had to ring some one to look at it on Thursday...so microwave or hob meal for me tonight.
I am so annoyed with OH, he called me useless to DD, said he wouldn't help me pay for an electrician coz he didn't live there and when I said I would get some one out to look at the oven he said it didn't concern him...again coz he didn't live there.
So I said well it should concern you as DD lives in that house too. He is so selfish.
Its costing me £10 to have the oven looked at and then will find out what I need to pay to have it fixed.
OK, money is OK today. I have updated siggy and checked accounts.
Nothing more to report coz am still cross.

I can't find a hug smilie for you (I did, but it was well creepy!)
What a crappy start to the day and your OH should be ashamed of himself saying that to DD about you, and for kicking up a fuss about having to come and fix it. He should want to help you and DD out. Meh, men!
Hope the day got better.xxxxI'll get there!0 -
Thanks MrsP, I'm really hoping men aren't all so selfish as otherwise I will find myself on my own forever...can't go through this sh*t again.
I got home from work and the oven is fine...will need to cancel the man tomorrow. The electric had tripped again so I went out to the garage in the dark and unplugged all the plugs except the freezer, next thing it tripped again. So then I went in the shed with a torch and unplugged the rest of the garden lights which seems to have fixed the problem. I thought I had knackered something in the fuse box as it sparked and made a bang when I flicked the switch but all seems to be OK for now...hope its OK over night (panicking about house fires). You wouldn't think OH was an electrician, infact I am not sure what he did when he was here.
Ordered a pizza for tea for nothing, had two bits but just feel that fed up I couldn't eat it so I am taking it to work for my lunch tomorrow.

Your OH seems to want his cake and eat it! He wants to share money when he earns less...he wants to be included in everything you organise but when it comes to being included in extras that concern money or help with the house he things its nothing to do with him....I think you need to sit down with him and thrash out some ground rules...
Is he in a rush to move back in or is he in too much of a good thing living wherever he is living at the mo? I mean while he is not living with you he doesn't have to do any of the mundane stuff or getting up in the night for DD or the house but he gets the benefits of seeing you both on his terms by the sound of it? Is he able to go out socialising when he likes? You need a sitter...Where is the benefit for you?
I'm sorry if I've been too opinionated..0 -
I have to agree with Keeping Motivated. MrP trys to pull this on me sometimes, wants to come round, do bathtime, cuddles and the good stuff. You're putting in the hours with DD, doing the crappy bits (carpet drying for example) you should get all the highlights and all the glory she brings.
Saying that, know how difficult it is, to say no or making him your first port of call.xxI'll get there!0 -
Hi LL
sorry to hear it was a tough day... your electrics don't sound very safe - I would be tempted to still get them looked at properly altho you may not like their opinion when you get itAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi Everyone,
You know, everything you have all said I have thought about. Yes he does want his cake and eat it, he never has to pay for a sitter, turns up when he wants for cuddles and to take DD out (so gets all DD's credit), doesn't pay for anything in the house coz he reckons he doesn't live there and does minimal...like mows the lawn and washes the car. He only does what he wants to do and when, as soon as things go wrong or need fixing he doesn't live there.
This morning he has asked how the electrics are and is going to check them...isn't it a bit late after I have been worried sick all night. He actually asked me why the oven wasn't working yesterday, how the eff do I know? Maybe because I fixed all the problems myself he needs my advice ha ha. He should have had that house safe for when DD and I got in from work yesterday.
So its cold pizza for me today for my lunch.
Accounts not great, the everything else pot is running low...£60! There is £80 left in entertainment, have a night out on Friday night and then bonfire night Saturday (which OH isn't coming to). I am going to make a chilli, jacket potatoes and some nachos with a garlic bread (already bought), my mates OH is getting some fire works today and I have already got sparklers.
So budget for Friday...£50 (well it will have to do). I should only need one petrol fill up this month, so there is an extra £60 but I need to wait until the end of the month to make sure. Then the groceries should be in budget too...so an extra £30 there. Thats £90 towards the car fund as need tyres and service.
After the cost of living rise in January I am going to save up for loan over payments in my mums seperate account and I will just include this in my siggy as I don't want to pay off my loan due to my situation. I should also have enough to save £50 a month in a house pot just in case something breaks or I need to buy something.

I thought OH was coming to the Bonfire party?
Do you speak to OH about all your issues, or do you just let it go over you head because its easier?0
