  • Hi Mummy,
Thanks for your comments too...all greatly appreciated. Think the money is burning a hole in my pocket. At least I want to pay debt with it though, would have had a lovely shopping spree this time last year.

Aw poor DD2, well a girl at work said to keep an eye on my DD because her DD now has a tummy bug which started with a cold and cough!
As soon as the weather changes the kids get ill and its ongoing now until April...think I will need to invest in some matchsticks for my eyes.

I have just had another MSE moment. I found some loan stuff for a Cahoot loan I took out in 2004 (paid off Nov 2005), I have no idea whether I had PPI on it or not but never the less I have filled in the Ombudsman questionnaire and sent it off with a cover letter...and a kiss! Well it worked with my last one lol.

Starting to feel tired now...early night again!

    Hi Livvy,

You're probably best sitting on the money rather than reducing the debt just so it balances things out a bit if anything did happen. And good on you putting it in your mums account.

In terms of the car, although its registered in his name, the loan agreement clearly shows it was bought in joint names. Its an assett and you are entitled to a half share! (Just make sure you can keep some of the paperwork to prove it - theres always a paper trail).

Good luck on the PPI. I rang around a few loans we had had but we hadnt taken PPI on them. We usually say no tbh, but I was hopeful that there may have been one where we hadnt said no/been given the option so I could get a nice lump sum back ;) - no such luck!

Hope DD is feeling better soon. Its exhausting when they're poorly isnt it? My DS had cold/flu a few weeks ago and didnt sleep at all for about 4 nights - I was dead on my feet!

  • Hi Em,
I never take out PPI, always reject it as have a good job which will pay well if I get made redundant. However one of my loans had the PPI in with the interest rate so I would say its worth you sending letters anyway. I got a letter back to say I was entitled to something...nearly fell off my chair.

DD has been coughing for 30 mins non stop, she has cough mixture, calpol and olbas oil on her pillow...going for the nurofen later if she wakes up as that normally knocks her out. The cough is really annoying me and when you're tired its hard not to get annoyed with the little ones isn't it? Its not her fault bless her, I just need sleep.

OH hasn't come tonight as he fell asleep so staying in bed as he is tired...if this is him trying to get us back on track I would hate to see him when he isn't. TBH its easier when he isn't here.

    Good Afternoon,

Hi Mummy, aw poor DD. My friends little girl was sick in the night too last night. DD and I have been up with the cough all night again, poor little thing. She seems fine during the day (apart from a snotty nose) but as soon as she lies down she can't stop coughing.

I popped to the village at lunch time to pick up my shoes from the cobblers and have the strap replaced on my watch, whilst I was there I bought birthday cards and pressies for the next 3 birthdays I have in October.
Feeling pleased with myself as I took a sponsor cheque from work to the cobblers (for his football team) and he was that impressed he gave me my shoes and put the strap on my watch for free...so saved £4.50 on the shoes and not sure about the watch.

    So spends at lunch time
cards and presents £40 (out of b'day pot)
    Stamps £2.38 (6 2nd class)
Groceries, mainly milk £6.01 (out of grocery pot)
Flap jack £1 essential!!! ha ha

Bit annoyed about the milk as I had to do my shopping in the CO-OP as the village has limited shops, a 6 pinter cost me £2, and a 4 pinter cost me £1.50 (it is £1 in Al***).

Got my friend coming tonight for wine tonight...hope I can keep my eyes open.

    xx

  • Morning Diary,
DD is on the mend yey! So we have been having sleep on a night.

Not in work this morning as MIL has lost her tooth so she is at the dentist, will take DD after lunch and go to work. Think I am going to have to cancel my meetings though as I haven't prepared for them...was meant to be doing that this morning at work and the meeting is at 2...don't think that will give me enough time.

I have been and checked accounts this morning and moved some money around. We won a tennar on the lottery so thats £10 back of the £35 I had to put in the bills to cover car insurance (borrowed it out of holiday pot).

Popped out shopping yesterday and go a bit carried away. I bought clothes for DD and a coat for me! Ahead of payday too which is very naughty but I have promised myself to pay for the coat as soon as I get paid...its on my Next bill which at the moment is £0...I have conditioned myself to pay it off every time I spend so will definitely pay it. DD is about £20 short in her account for the clothes I bought her but can cover that with my own money....its not on CC so thats the main thing.

This weeks target spends....£60 for petrol
    Groceries £4 Milk only
    Meal for work birthdays £15
This will leave me with £60 in everything else pot and £40 in grocery pot which will pay for the clothes spends yesterday.

Payday Tuesday...might have a couple of other little spends before but I should be covered for everything now.

I was very annoyed with myself at the weekend as I had a hangover so bought a takeaway on Saturday night £8.70! The lady on the phone said it would be 30 mins when in fact it was over an hour, DD was shattered and waiting for some pizza before bed but she kept falling asleep and I was starving. When it arrived it was cold and I couldn't eat it all anyway so was a total waste of money. I could have put a pizza in the oven...ready in 20 mins and saved all the hassle and the extra spend.

    Hi LL
Just checking on to see everything alright your end! Yey to DD being on the mend, bet that's a relief.
Grrr to the takeaway, I hate it when that happens by the time it comes your past hunger.
I also get paid this week, trying not to cut things to close to the bone with Xmas looming, I am determined not to resort to the cards so will take my foot off the gas ever so slightly with the cc overpayments.
Well done on the lotto win as well! They say good luck comes in threes so more luck may be coming your way.

  • Hi Yellow,
I really hope it does come in three's...won't hold my breath though ha ha.

Yes would definitely make sure you have extra money put away for Xmas, keep an eye out for all the sales too for Xmas pressies. Debenhams has a great sale in November...I always get kids clothes in that one.
