Hi Livvy, uh oh to the run in with OH about DD's party. He really should be contributing! Hopefully it wont cost you any more if the other 4 dont turn up!!
Hope your okx xMummytogirls x0 -
Evening Diary,
Im beginning to think that some one doesn't like me! Just had a phone call from DD's party venue to say they have booked room out to some one else for that time because we hadn't taken the form back or paid...blaming OH because that was his one job. I have had to rearragne venue, which isn't easy as everyone has parties this time of year. Then when I found a venue I have had to inform all the kids parents of venue change, also not easy seeing as though most kids accepted through nursery. !!!!!!.
Then I have walked in the garden room to find DD had decorated cream cushions with red crayon! Luckily vanish has sorted them out.
At least with the shower incident thats three!!!!
Night out was good fun but expensive, paid for out of entertainment budget...£80 (hotel included).
Feeling a bit rough today, just want my bed but friend is coming round tonight for catch up.
Carpets are almost dry...the heater borrowed from work seems to have done the trick.
Bye for now... xxLBM March 2011 - [STRIKE]Joint Debt £46k[/STRIKE]Current Personal Debt £0 :jGroceries £152.51/230,Pot Balance £1564.02Christmas Savings £200, £2 savings £240 -
Glad you had a good time and that work leant you a heater - focus on the positive things - look for the good things happening rather than counting the bad - as you tend to get more of what you focus on.... That's my philosophy anyway!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi,
Thanks SH you are so right. I managed to book another party for DD and told most people without much hassle so thats a good thing and I think the price is the same so no damage there either.
I have listed 14 items on ebay today to start at 8pm tonight as I really do need an early night.
Managed to pull up some of the carpet that wasn't drying so I have the heater on that bit as I speak. Closet carpet is dry so I have put some things back and I have also had a clear out of all DD's clothes that don't fit anymore.
Bedding has been outside to dry today although have rushed outside twice to get it in when the rain came.
When DD is in bed I am going to get all the garden furniture in the shed ready for the wind as otherwise it will be all over the garden.
Aldi shop tomorrow, I have started to make my list....hope to keep it under £20.
Off to hang more clothes out.

Hi Mummy,
The party is a week today, she said another person had paid there and then for the room so they let them have it !!!!!!. I was fuming and I made sure the woman knew as well. Its just wrong to do that when it was provisionally booked, why didn't she ring me to check? v annoyed.
I only have 3 more parents at nursery to tell so shouldnt be too bad, but it is something you can do without isn't it?

It is poor about the party venue - I would put in a written complaint. However it is done now... Hope you have a great time next week anyway. Good luck with keeping the spend down... I've been tracking what I am spending this week and it has been eye opening... I have started getting pressies for xmas but the problem is with being a shopaholic - there is always an excuse...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Morning Diary,
Hi SH, I know it is shocking what you spend isn't it? Ive just updated my diary with the last weeks spends and because I left it so long I couldn't remember. Its good spending on Xmas pressies too because its still spending ha ha, doesn't matter who its for. Do you have a budget to stick to? I have been saving £40 a month so once DD's party is out of the way then I will start to do some shopping...I will try and get the sales too.
Today I am popping to Aldi with my list, hoping to stick to it.
I have emailed the builders and reported my shower leak, I have asked if they can come out and paint the ceiling and if not then please could they just let me know what paint to buy. The thing is the ceiling paint in the shops is thicker than what they use so I need to colours to match.
Carpets seem dry but still smelly, I pulled the carpet up and its the underlay that is still wet. I am going to buy some febreeze stuff in Aldi today plus some vinegar to run round the washer with the soda crystals as thats a bit smelly too...perhaps I have something stuck on my nose!!!!!
Checked my accounts and they all seem to be doing OK, I will have to work out my spends for DD's party as its going to cost me more than what I have left in my account if OH doesn't contribute.
Its wild outside here today, I could feel my car pulling in the wind this morning when I was driving to work. Glad I got all the garden furniture packed away.
6 red tomatoes off my plants YEY!!! I don't need to buy any in my weekly shop.

Yay to home grown fruit and veg.. We don't have tomatoes but I've been picking plums and apples this weekend...
On the xmas shop spend... My desired budget is high and I started off the year with little savings pots but then had a bunch of medical conditions and my spending went out the window... Still trying to get it back under control now. I've worked out tho - that I could spend say another £20 on DD but then I could legitimately finish as I have started wrapping up stuff I've bought over the year and there is loads I can wrap for her... DS I have 3 little things for that's all - but I need to avoid lots of little spends on him as his stuff is usually pretty expensive... Need to wait and see what he actually wants. He's 13, my DD is 8. I think I have 20+ people to buy for between now and early January...! Luckily if there are kids in a family we don't buy for the adults but even so...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi Diary,
My shopping spend came to £35 today, I did manage to get airfreshners and I have £30 left for next weeks shopping...to keep me under £200, which is fine because its payday next Friday, so only need one more shop.\aq
I typed up some little notes for DD's party venue change, have put them in her bag for nursery to distribute tomorrow. OH has decided to come early on Sunday to help out for DD's party (he didn't ask, just told me he was coming), there isn't anything left to do...have a feeling he wants to come round so we can arrive there together, then he looks like a great dad, the dad that hasn't rang to speak to DD since he went away last Wednesday! Makes me mad seeing as though he hasn't coughed up or helped in any other way.
I have moved my drawers back to where they belong in my bedroom, they had been moved until the carpet dried underneath them. I felt the underlay as far as I could get my arm under and it seemed dry so should be OK.
SH, I haven't started Christmas shopping yet so you're doing really well, once DD's birthday is out of the way I will start to look. As kids get older they start to want more larger things don't they, and then you have the added worry of them changing their mind a few weeks before Christmas...better to wait for DS's pressies I say.
Have you looked to see what you can make with all your apples and plums? Plum jam is nice isn't it?
I have ran the washer round with soda crystals and vinegar, that should have given it a good clean. I can't stand the thought of anything else braking on me at the moment.
Found a new tv for the bedroom today for £60...bargain. I have just measured the tv and the screen is only 15inches....the one I found was 17inches and I could do with not having to change the bracket, so need to have another look. The tv I found did have a bracket for £10 though so I guess I could change it or get someone helpful in to do it for me...I can't stand not having a tv in the bedroom.
Its wild outside, I have been and put the bins in the garage so they don't damage my car...that would be another expense.
Can still smell my carpets grrrr.
