  • Morning Diary,

    The headache has gone WAHOO!

I couldn't sleep last night with all the worry about DD's party so today is a list day. I have made 3 lists and I am about to start another one...then I will feel in control.

Final eBayer has paid up and last night before I went to sleep I packaged everything up and got it ready, so I will pop to the PO at lunch time. I'm a bit annoyed actually at the fees that paypal and ebay charge...for selling all those items I made £52, (£68 with P&P), eBay charges are a tennar and Paypal took their cut so have only been able to transfer £55 into my account, once I pay P&P I will only have £45! Its shocking.

I have 65 miles left on my petrol counter, I have managed 24 days out of my petrol so far so I am really pleased as this is the most it has done. The cheapest place for petrol for me is Asda, but I won't have time to get any until Friday morning so hopefully I will make it last.

Right I have been to the bank and got the cash out for DD's party venue (will pay that tonight), money for Friday night out and P&P cost for ebay items...I had better go and transfer the money from the savings accounts to my correct account now else won't have enough left in my current account to pay my loan payment.

    xx

Hi LL - yes that sound shocking re paypal and ebay - however if you are finding a home for your pre-loved items or mistake spends better getting some money for it.... I tend to give stuff away or give to charity as ebay scares me... don't know where to start.... it also seems time consuming...

  • Evening Diary,

Hi SH, I gave a lot of stuff to charity, mostly my own clothes but I spent a lot of money over the last three years on DD and the clothes are as good as new so even though it is time consuming (especially the ironing and taking pics) it is worth it just to get something back. I only go to the Post Office once a week so if some one hasn't paid then they have to wait for my next weekly trip. Its a little routine for me now so not too bad, I had a couple of false starts where I did a week and gave up but now I am in a routine it doesn't seem as bad. Its the fact that Sundays are the best nights for sales that is a nightmare as I don't have much time on a Sunday night as like to prepare for going back to work and DD to nursery.

Tonight I have been preparing for my big night out on Friday, I have put my false tan on and have done my nails. I am digging an All Saints dress out of my closet to wear, I think this is the first night out I have been on where I haven't bought something new...I knew I could do it ha ha.

Had a run in with OH over DD's party, I asked him for half the money and he has decided to invite some of his mates and their kids (a week before the party) and said it didn't matter about numbers and if the catering was short. I said what about party bags and such like? Then he went off on one about how I didn't involve him in the organising. Well he didn't ask!!! So I have told him to do it himself next time. I am not being bullied by him any more, its not like its a wedding or a christening...the party is for DD's friends not his, oh and he didn't cough up. I won't invite him next yet. I have bought and wrapped all her pressies and I bought her a lovely card, when I asked if he was buying her one he said to put his name on the one I have bought her...how lazy? Rant rant rant ha ha.

Carpets still blooming wet, I have sprinkled bicarb of soda on them to stop the smell...tip from my best friend. Will have to go to Aldi and get a cheap large pot of it.

    Nite nite everyone xxx

Ouch about OH and the party. One of DD's friends - one year her mum had a party for her and the next week her dad had one... but he cancelled it because she misbehaved at the last minute... I always felt that was cruel... I think it is a really difficult balance to get right - making the child feel loved and wanted while not setting them up to be disappointed. I wouldn't put up with him inviting extras without contributing if it was me...

Hope you're okay... I've been married 20 years but I am still shocked at the difference between the male and female brain!! Things that are obvious to me just aren't to him (and he would argue vice verce)

  • You are doing fabulous hun and should be totally proud of yourself. If he wants to play like that then you just carry on as you were and politely inform him of things where you have to - apart from that I'd just get on with your life with you and DD and try to not worry about him too much.

Well done on the Ebaying - I really k=must do mine - it's getting started though - like going to the gym LOL.

  • Hey peeps,
    Thanks for your support.

SH, I think thats a bit too far cancelling a party, poor kid...maybe take a toy off them but not a party. They say men are simpler than women but I'm not too sure...well not now anyway.

DF, I think OH feels that I am getting on without him and has a little paddy when I don't include him...he made the situation like this so he should live with it. I'm just really soft and don't like confrontation so always trying to keep things sweet.

Blooming carpets still stink today, I have had the fan on all night and although the pile on the top feels drying the pile at the bottom is still wet. Anyone know of a really strong deodoriser for carpets? Actually saying that I am not too sure if the smell is coming from the bottom of the shower where the drains are.

Nothing much to report today, I have been really busy at work so haven't even checked accounts yet....will be shaking soon ha ha.

My bruises are terrible and I have a massive coldsore...great news for my night out tomorrow.

Is there a febreeze for carpets - I have a feeling there is - or neutradol type stuff? HomeBargain where we are often has stuff like that in... Have you fixed the shower leak properly do you know - as otherwise its pointless - I would take up the carpets for now and see if you can dry them stood up or over the banister rail and see if they dry off properly...

Hope you have a good day

  • I would put a separate post on the old stlye board regarding drying the carpets quicker and also for the smell as someone on there always has a solution.

Hope you enjoy your night out tomorrow.
  • Hi,
Thank you for your tips, I have sprayed some upholstery freshner on the carpets for now (thats all I had in)...won't be able to tell if its worked yet as Im in the smell and you don't notice it as much until you go out and in again. The carpets are that thick that the pile at the bottom is still wet but dry to touch. I was talking to my neighbour and she said hers were smelly when wet but once dried the smell went. I will put a post on OS board thanks.

The TV has now broken in the bedroom, DD was really upset as she likes to watch Little Princess before bed. I have changed the fuse and it still doesn't work. Im like Frank Spencer aren't I? It never rains but it pours.

I have been round and cleaned the house and tidied where I can so I feel a bit more organised, I hate the house being like it is...it bugs me to sit in somewhere where things aren't in their right place. Some stains have come through on the carpet too and Im quite upset as I spent ages cleaning the carpet on my hands and knees two weeks ago.

Coldsore looks better for some brandy on it but bruises are just as bad. After a glass of champagne (we are being treated) I wont care.

Party update...I took the list of people who hadn't responded into nursery and the staff chased them up for me. I am about 4 replies short now which isn't so bad, will make them a bag up anyway. 22 kids ha ha...we have another party to attend 2 hours after DD's so I will be ready for my bed when we get home.

Can't believe the time, the night has flown.

    Good night peoples.
