I actually feel physically sick right now and want to throw the whole dyson out the window
Just to let you understand the extent of my phobia, my stepdad locked me in the toilet with one of those flying daddy long leg things switching the light on and off to make it react to the light whilst holding the door handle so i couldnt get out, i was so petrified i smashed my hand straight through the middle of the door and came out screaming and crying, i think i was about 14. Needless to say there wasnt any privacy for anyone in my house for about a week till the door got fixed
Is there any way you can separate the two in your mind?If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
oh piggers glad you mentioned that as I need to do some money moving stuff before we go away and now would be a good time to doo it tooo
Ive shuffled my money.. I will be about £600 short of the £2350 for the window next Friday but I can shuffle it from somewhere else but it has to go back ASAP.. I then wil be penniless until March as I have uniforms, birthdays, baby and christmas to pay for.. You can bet your life the fridge wil explode, the washing machine will die and the tumble dryer will implode.... plus I need to replace my lappy at some juncture as it is nigh on unusable.. I have to keep flicking up the onscreen keyboard to type email addresses!
I wonder if OH will get me one for christmas if I moan enough lol....LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

No, cant seperate them just see the legs and im off, there was actually one in my sitting room last night and i had to bribe oh with a cup of tea to make him get the hoover and kill it, i remember being on holiday in india and i thought there was a huge spider at my feet jumped up on the table screaming in the middle of bingo in the hotel....it was a cricket and my uncle killed it. Looks like a spider acts like a spider moves like a spider......there is a remote controlled toy tarantula at my work and it had fallen of the shelf i actually couldnt bring myself to pick it up so had to get someone else to do it...the people at work love it they keep tricking me with the toy spider that comes with our spider catchers. BTW thanks for all your kind comments about my posts - some of it may have been true at one time but not any more - there are lots of people who post more than me with better replies -you only have to look at the post counts for the thread to see who posts more and therefore is more up to date with the happenings than me. But thank you all anyway - you are a lovely bunch xxPeace will be mine

Hi all,
I need some help from my flylady friends to get some perspective before i crack up.
I've just found out that i have to move out of my house in the next month or so. Because it's been sprung on me slightly my landlord is willing to give me a bit of wiggle room but the sooner the better really I've been phoning around all morning today and because i'm self employed and haven't got 2yrs accounts it's making things difficult. One estate agents wanted a guarentor ( i know that's spelt wrong sorry) and another wanted 6 months rent in advance. I went to see a house today and it was so teeny tiny it was pathetic.
I live in a small village at the moment where Ds2 goes to a brilliant school so i can't go too far. It's in between a smaller village and a small town. Ds1 wants to move to the next village where some of his friends live but it's further away from his school which is in the town. I would rather stay in this village but there's only 1 house to let (which could be perfect if i could get hold of the letting agent). My 2nd choice would be the town because apart from Ds2's school everything would be on our doorstep, the shops etc. Ds1 says the kids from the town aren't very nice and he's worried he'd get bullied walking to and from school.
Ds2 doesn't want to move anywhere and is so upset. I am too, my search so far has told me i'm lucky to have such a decent sized house and massive garden and i don't want to go.
So, i'm trying to look for somewhere to live, i'm going to have to do a major declutter and pack the house up, we're going on holiday on saturday for a week, i'm trying to run a business and the boys are off school.
In my true style i'm completely overwhelmed and don't know where to start. I haven't even washed the clothes for holiday let alone packed anything. I need to get hold of the letting agent for the house in this village tomorrow, wait in all day for a parcel, possibly view the house, spend 4hrs at holiday club with Ds2 and start getting ready for holiday. There's no way i can do all that at the same time. Arghhhhhhhh :eek::eek:
Sorry for the massive vent i know people have a lot worse things to deal with. xx0 -

I am still ebeasting.. but struggling with posting.. I cant walk to the post office so have to rely on OH to go and then I feel useless and suchlike.. I have had to use the ebeast money for other bits this week.. all vital stuff of courseI have about £50 in there now.. which is nothing really.. I did scrape back the £114 for the mattresses though
.
I have some stuff to relist when I get chance/time/motivation.. it is all proving difficult now though since Moomin spilled tea on my keyboard and half my keys dont work properly or the arrow keys whizz me off somewhere else
Your numbers are looking good too.. 10lb downfabulous going!!!

1. Find out exactly when you need to move out - what are the terms of your rental agreement?
2. How old are your sons - how much weight do you give to their opinions of the other boys not being nice- is there anyone else you can consult for their opinion?
3. All you need for the holiday is you and the kids - so what if stuff is unwashed you can sort this out when you are there and concentrate on what you need to do in the meantime
4. If parcel isn't relevant to house move or holiday then it moves down the list of your priorities
5. Go look at your ideal new home if you can - try not to compare with what you have now but look at what it would give you/mean to you and your family for the immediate and mid-term
6. Big deep breaths. Smile.
7. I'm new to posting so pls excuse anything that doesn't come across perfectly. I'm working late at the mo hence feel quite alive at this late hour!
8. Hope this helps!! X*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Martin Luther King Jr0 -
I don't know how helpful this will be, but the flying daddy long legs things are Crane Flies, and are NOT in any way related to spiders.
Is there any way you can separate the two in your mind?
I've realised it's not just spiders for me (and daddy long legs will always remain spiders which can fly), but anything with more than 4 legs. No legs is fine, too. I've got better over the years, mainly due to having to deal with stuff (in absence of a knight in shining armour), but I'm really not keen on more than a reasonable amount (i.e. 4 or less) of long, spindly legs.
Is there a shuddery smilie?
Sorry for the massive vent i know people have a lot worse things to deal with. xx
You've got your hands full and I'd be in a state, too, if it was me. Is OH still around to help you with a few things? Could you ask a neighbour to accept the parcel and leave a note on the door for the delivery person to redirect them?
You could stick the most urgent washing on first thing, so it can start drying while you're out. (If you can get things washed, some can dry while you're there.) Then I'd pursue the letting agent, as it will save you lots of hassle if the house is available, you like it and you're accepted. Would your landlord give you a reference or maybe speak to the agent, in case their conditions are similarl to the others you have come across?
DS2's holiday club seems the most difficult to manage. Could your DS1 help out with that (even if it's only for part of the time), so his brother doesn't miss out? Or does DS2 have friends at the club whose mums might be prepared to look after your DS2? I know it's asking for favours, but maybe you can do a good deed in return sometime. I've got to rely on friends a lot at the moment, as I can't take DS2 with me when I go to visit his dad at the hospital.
I hope this helps and you get sorted out quickly. You can deal with packing up the house after your holiday and if you're staying in the same village and the new house is empty already, you can gradually move stuff across. I hope it all works out and goes smoothly for you. x0 -
It improves at about 18ish... years, not months!
I have put mine outside in the garden in the rain on a couple of occasions when they have been kicking off.. DS1 was once put outside in his underwear when he refused to get dressed! lol.
hahaha that did amuse me!seafarers_wife wrote: »Gilly you are scaring me!
