Gilly - try removing him for a time out away from the table.
Not for refusing to eat but for the fussing when he doesn't get his own way.
But you have my sympathies IT IS hard. Having said that, as long as you are consistent he will get the message eventually.
DD has returned from her sleepover and requested a chippy tea. I have requested a room tidy - first. NO sign of anyone departing for the chippy;)
ive tried that he kicks and hits the door. i did that tonight coz he wouldnt get back from me far enough and stop screaming at me long enough to boil the tatties and put the pie in the oven. he has been screaming almost constantly since 5.20pm. thats 1 hour. he is settling himself down now but its almost medicine timeCountdown to Discharge Is On!

Could you let him eat a bit earlier? he may just be starved and not able to wait for food to cook, I used to save Tiddles dinner from the night before so she could eat while I cooked.
I wouldnt put him the other side of a door.. I would move his chair to the other side of the room and he would stay there, away from the table. I think it is important for them to see you are ignoring them having their tantrums. I would also have a punishment in place.. stop that silly noise or else no tv/pjs and bed/no story at bedtime eg. .. My 6 y/o still tries it on when she is tired.. and I NEVER back down and she does find herself in bed super early on occasion.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Mmmmmm...chippy tea............
Well, I actually made some headway in Minion's Bottomless Pit of Despair.
I have
Taken the remaining clothes off the bed and abandoned them on the landing
Swept the utter sh-- out from under the bed
Upended the bed to find a broken slat, which will have to wait
Kicked the CDs into a heap
moved the wardrobe across the room,
shifted the CoD to besides the wardrobe,
(the last two weren't so hard because EVERY SINGLE SODDING ITEM OF CLOTHING was on the bed and not in them!!! :mad )
plugged in the stereo behind the wardrobe,
Put the bed back down over the other side of the room,
Poked the cat that decided to assist/supervise me in the belly with a pencil as he fell asleep right in the way of the door
Decided that turning myself into a giant sweating lump isn't worth the hassle, so have come downstairs to decide what to have to eat today.
Been lured to the Dark Side by Valli's mentions of chipsssssssss
Piggers - what can I say? That room looks so completely girly, it's - it's - it's - [chokes on words to describe what would be my worst nightmare, but a bunch of small children's paradise] - totally appropriate for the occupants!!!
But how big is that window?????? I thought I was being extravagant buying 90 inch drop curtains for my bedroom, and they go right to the floor to cut out draughts!!!!
Actually, I still need to get Minion her curtains. But I suppose I should wait for her to be here to choose them
I will have to put a little shelf up by her bed now, as there isn't the room for a bedside table and she will need a lamp, but that's not as urgent as dealing with the utter junk current left in a heap in the middle of her pit where I swept it to.
Chip shop it is, though.....and maybe via a premises licensed to sell beer for consumption off the premises..........
For screaming, I would recommend selective parental deafness, or in extreme circumstances, earplugs, as it shows the offender that screaming doesn't have an effect on you. Augmented by swift removal into bed if it continues.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
So much to do today....today is my only day off out of 9 days so am exhausted and the hot weather combined with no air con/ windows in the warehouse is a recipe for trouble, so need to get a handle on everything today even though
Today, so much for resting...had to take ds on an emergency trip to the hospital this morning got home at 3 (everything is fine) made oh breakfast (he works nights) made me & ds lunch, all this took till 4.......so have only done 2 loads of washing, another about to go in, have hoovered and cleaned out sofas but have loads more to do
Keeping a handle on everything this month.....have got shopping down to £100 now for me oh, ds and other visitors who will be here for about half the month, have started a thread to keep myself in line i think posting keeps me doing things i need to do

Sorry about that Jojo :rotfl:
have cleaned the kitchen (DD is asleep, DS at foorball so floor has a chance to dry) and washed out the kitchen bit and used the mop water to woosh over the bathroom floor just because I can
oh I ironed again
state of DD's floordrobe suggests that I will have more washing tomorrow.
Can I ask a personal question? How do you dispose of used ST's? DD just puts hers in her bedroom bin and I'm not happy - have asked her to put them in bathroom bin (lidded) and to roll/fold them up - thinking of buying nappy bags for her to wrap them in.
The last two paragraphs are clearly connected - typing them has made me realise that the appearance of floordrobe probably AF assisted. Shall attempt not to RAGE at herDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

i find he doesnt eat if he is sat at the table on his own the only one eating.
i only put him the other side of the door so i could open the oven and full the pan of boiling water. he is too sutobborn for his own good a bit like me! he got the picture eventually and after myself and his brother had finished tea we played a wee bit while he carried on his tantrum then i told them to get up fr bathtime cue a fresh round of crying so i just picked him up and carried him upstairs and he shut up when i said to him either you brush your teeth or i do it :rotfl:
roll on next year! he wont be 2 so no tantrums! (yeah i know im deluding myself but right now i dont care!!!)Countdown to Discharge Is On!

I have put mine outside in the garden in the rain on a couple of occasions when they have been kicking off..
